- Circle to acquire Tazapay for $400M in an all-stock deal, strengthening its stablecoin payments infrastructure.
- The deal expands Circle’s reach across APAC, Southeast Asia and South Asia, where cross-border payments are growing rapidly.
- Tazapay connects stablecoins with local banking and payment rails, helping businesses move money across borders.
Circle, the USDC giant, has announced a massive $400 million bet on stablecoin payments infrastructure as it looks to take its dollar-backed stablecoin deeper into global commerce.
The company has signed an agreement to acquire Tazapay, a Singapore-based cross-border payments infrastructure firm. This is in an all-stock deal valued at about $400 million. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
The deal gives Circle access to a payments network that already operates across some of the world’s fastest-growing markets particular the APAC and South Asia.
Tazapay has more than $25 billion in annualized payment volume, works with 60+ banking and fintech partners and provides payout coverage across 100+ markets. More than 60% of its payment volume was already settled in stablecoins as of July 31, 2026.
Why Circle Is Acquiring Tazapay
Circle is buying Tazapay for the payment infrastructure it has already built around stablecoins.
USDC can move money on-chain, but businesses still need connections to banks, local payment systems and payout networks to turn that digital dollar into usable money in different countries. Tazapay provides those connections.
Irfan Ganchi, Circle’s senior vice president of payments, said in a Linkedin post that demand for cross-border payments is growing fastest across APAC, Southeast Asia and emerging markets. Tazapay gives Circle the ability to originate and terminate payments in these markets, where USDC adoption is already taking place.
Ganchi said the acquisition moves Circle closer to a world where USDC becomes the default rail for global commerce.

That makes the deal bigger than a simple payments acquisition. Circle is effectively adding more of the infrastructure needed to make USDC useful outside crypto markets.
Tazapay allows businesses to accept, hold, convert and pay out funds across international markets, connecting stablecoin transactions with local payment systems. As per the official press release, Bringing that network under Circle could make it easier for businesses to use USDC for cross-border transactions. This is without having to build payment connections in each market themselves.
Expanding into Stablecoin Infra
The acquisition also builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. Tazapay has been a design partner for Circle Payments Network since 2025. Circle Ventures also led Tazapay’s $36 million Series B extension earlier this year, with participation from investors including Coinbase Ventures and CMT Digital.
Now, Circle is moving from investor and partner to owner.
For Tazapay’s customers, Circle said there will be no immediate changes to its products, APIs, pricing or support when the transaction closes.
The acquisition comes as Circle, as one of the leading stablecoin infrastructure providers, increasingly positions USDC as financial infrastructure rather than simply a crypto asset.
The company’s bigger challenge is no longer just getting people and institutions to hold USDC. It is making the stablecoin useful wherever money needs to move.
Tazapay gives Circle another piece of that puzzle. This is ocal payment rails, banking relationships and access to emerging markets.
The transaction is expected to close in 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
For Circle, the message is clear. It isn’t just trying to issue the dollar that moves on-chain. It wants to build more of the network through which that dollar moves around the world.
