XRP is facing a significant technical juncture amid a noticeable decline in network activity. The currency is trading around $1.35, with crucial moving averages congregating between $1.33 and $1.36 on the daily chart. This clustering has cemented this range as the primary immediate support zone.
Where Does the Technical Support Stand?
A robust surge in August saw XRP climbing from approximately $1.00 to over $1.50, reaching a brief high of $1.70. However, the currency struggled to maintain this momentum and permanently return to the $1.45 to $1.50 range. Instead, the momentum weakened, forming lower local peaks over time.
The daily RSI indicator recently dropped to 51.7, surpassing the signal average marker at 58.2. This indicates neither overselling nor strong upward momentum, highlighting the risk of increased selling pressure if the $1.33 to $1.36 support fails to hold.
Currently, the $1.33 to $1.35 range is observed as a crucial defensive line for XRP. A sustained break below could lead to testing the $1.28 level and the primary moving average cluster between $1.25 and $1.28.
Has XRP Ledger’s Activity Declined Significantly?
Parallel to the technical chart, on-chain data reflects a frail appearance. Successful transaction counts plummeted by 59.5% to roughly 970,200. The total transaction volume on the XRP Ledger also decreased by 55.6%, falling to 1.2 million. Known as an open-source blockchain network within the Ripple ecosystem, XRP Ledger supports payment and asset transfer activities.
Transaction count per ledger diminished by 56.1%, while payment volume dropped by 35.6% to 573,100. Indicators concerning users have followed a similar pattern. The number of active accounts fell by 5.4% to 13,900, and active user count saw a more severe decline of 42.3%, decreasing to 126,200. Meanwhile, the number of newly created accounts remained at 2,200 with no significant change.
Although network infrastructure remains stable, with ledger close intervals fixed at around 3.84 seconds, a slight increase of 1.2% in closed ledgers indicates that the core weakness lies more in user engagement and transaction intensity than in actual network performance.
- Reclaiming the $1.40 mark could mitigate downward pressure in the short term.
- A break past $1.45 would be crucial for re-establishing a robust upward trend.
- Failing to hold above $1.33 may necessitate close monitoring of the $1.28 level.
- Further declines could bring the $1.25 to $1.28 range into focus.
Despite waning transaction and user metrics, the network’s operational integrity holds steady. This discrepancy underscores that the weak link lies in activity volume rather than performance, highlighting a need for renewed interest and engagement within the ecosystem.
