Dogecoin is at a crucial point after several weeks of selling pressure. The popular meme coin has slipped from September highs near $0.10 and now trades close to a major support zone. Despite the recent weakness, some traders are starting to see reasons for optimism. A fresh TD Sequential buy signal has appeared on the daily chart, and market participants are watching closely to see whether buyers can step in before another wave of losses emerges.

DOGE Defends Critical Support as Buyers Search for a Rebound
DOGE traded around $0.0807 on Oct. 17. During the session, the token briefly climbed to $0.0815. Sellers later pushed the price toward $0.0798 before buyers returned. The result was a relatively flat day. The bigger concern comes from the broader trend. Dogecoin recently broke below a rising trendline that had supported price action since August. That breakdown shifted attention toward a key horizontal support level near $0.0792.
This area has attracted buyers several times before. Another successful defense could encourage a move toward $0.085 and possibly $0.09. Such a recovery would help restore confidence after the recent decline. A different outcome remains possible. A daily close below $0.0792 could expose DOGE to deeper losses. In that scenario, traders may begin targeting the $0.0680 area, which served as an important base during August.
Technical indicators still favor caution. The daily RSI sits at 35.80. That reading places DOGE near oversold conditions without crossing the widely watched threshold of 30. MACD remains bearish as well, with the MACD line below the signal line. One signal, however, has attracted attention. Crypto analyst Ali Charts highlighted a TD Sequential buy signal near $0.081.
On-Chain Activity Remains Stable Despite Market Weakness
While price performance has struggled, network activity presents a more balanced picture. Transaction counts climbed to more than 32,000 on Oct. 13 before cooling slightly during the following days. Active addresses also remained healthy, averaging more than 33,000 daily during a recent week. Large holders continue moving substantial amounts of DOGE.
Roughly 1.93 billion DOGE changed hands through transfers involving at least one million tokens. Such activity suggests whale participation remains active despite uncertain market conditions. Another development worth monitoring is DogeOS. The project launched a public testnet in late September. The platform operates as an EVM-compatible zero-knowledge rollup.
Developers can build trading services, lending applications, games, and stablecoin platforms while using DOGE for fees. Several applications have already appeared across lending, trading, gaming, AI, and launchpad sectors. Even so, those additions have not yet translated into a major price response.
