Evernorth holds a massive XRP reserve and intends to put it to work.

Following the company’s Nasdaq listing under ticker XRPN, CEO Asheesh Birla sat down with Tony Edward of Thinking Crypto to lay out how the company plans to grow its treasury, generate yield, and engage with the XRP ecosystem. The conversation covered four key areas.

Yield is the Goal

Birla opened by drawing a clear line between Evernorth and passive treasury vehicles. “We’re not a passive digital asset treasury,” he said. The company plans to pursue yield opportunities through traditional methods, but Birla expressed particular enthusiasm for on-chain deployment.

He described the approach as methodical, stating the intention to “look at taking opportunities as they arise and help develop this market, both on-chain and in the traditional sense.”

For XRP holders, this signals that a significant institutional participant is actively working to build out the asset’s utility rather than simply accumulating and holding.

XRP’s Timing Works in Evernorth’s Favor

Birla explained why XRP fits Evernorth’s strategy specifically. He pointed to the asset’s financial use case focus as a core reason. He highlighted the lending protocol and DeFi systems coming to the XRP Ledger, and called the timing of Evernorth’s launch fortunate.

He also referenced the digitization of real-world assets as a tailwind that coincides with the company’s goals. XRP was “built specifically for financial use cases,” he noted, and Evernorth intends to take advantage of that in both its yield strategy and its approach to DeFi. This positions the company as a participant in XRP’s ecosystem growth, not just a shareholder in its price.

One Metric to Watch

Birla identified the metric that will guide Evernorth’s decisions going forward. “Our core metric that we’re looking at is to maximize XRP per share,” he said. The company will evaluate opportunities across the ecosystem through that lens.

Every acquisition decision, yield strategy, and capital allocation choice ties back to growing XRP holdings relative to shares outstanding. This gives investors tracking XRPN a clear benchmark for measuring performance.

The Work Begins

Birla closed by outlining immediate priorities. The first is deploying XRP in a measured way, with attention to risk and controls in place. The second is collaboration with the XRP development team to provide product feedback on what financial institutions need to scale.

He described getting back into “the product game” as personally exciting, particularly in partnership with the broader ecosystem. He said the Nasdaq bell ringing was a milestone, and the focus has now shifted to execution.
