Spot Zcash ($ZEC) exchange-traded funds have recorded their first daily net inflow since September 22, a possible sign that investor demand for the privacy coin is returning after a weak stretch.
On October 14, the products took in $3.68 million, according to a Tokenpost report carried by Pluang. The same report said Zcash ETFs were the larger of two inflow stories that day, ahead of XRP funds, which drew $740,400. It also put Zcash ETF net assets at $645 million, with $179 million in cumulative inflows.
Weekly flows still negative
The inflow is not large enough to turn the week positive. The funds would need strong sessions on Thursday and Friday to avoid a third consecutive week of net outflows.
The market backdrop has been uneven. Invezz reported on October 14 that ZEC was trading around $1,264 after gains on Tuesday and Wednesday, but that persistent withdrawals from Grayscale's Zcash fund were still weighing on demand. A later KuCoin market note said ZEC fell below $1,115 on Thursday, with macro pressure outweighing the isolated ETF inflow.
Background on the Zcash ETF
The main product is Grayscale's The Zcash ETF (ticker ZCSH). According to a Grayscale filing with the SEC, the fund launched on NYSE Arca on August 25, 2026, and its assets under management passed $500 million by September 8. The same filing said ZCSH was the only exchange-traded product offering spot exposure to ZEC at the time. It also noted that an investment in the fund is not a direct investment in ZEC.
ZCSH converted from the Grayscale Zcash Trust, which had traded over the counter. Its prospectus shows the trust historically traded at large premiums and discounts to the value of its holdings, a gap that the ETF structure is designed to narrow through share creation and redemption.
For now, a single day of inflows after weeks of weakness is a modest data point. Whether it marks a shift in sentiment will depend on flows over the coming sessions and on broader market conditions.
