Jasmy CFO Hiroshi Harada has outlined the next phase of the company's partnership with Panasonic Advanced Technology, pointing toward a push into the computational infrastructure powering artificial intelligence, 3D computer graphics, and video production.
From IoT Data to AI Compute
The two companies have been working together since early 2024. Their initial collaboration focused on a Web3 platform built to securely link personal data and IoT device data, drawing on Jasmy's Personal Data Locker product and Panasonic's expertise in connected systems. The platform was designed to give users direct control over their own data while improving processing speeds.
That foundation is now being extended. Harada signalled that the partnership's next priority is securing the computational resources that AI workloads demand, a challenge that has grown sharply as generative AI and high-fidelity content production scale up.
Distributed GPU Computing at the Core
The vehicle for that expansion is JANCTION, a distributed GPU computing project incubated by JasmyLab, a Tokyo-based company led by Harada. JANCTION GPU Pool operates as a decentralised cloud service, aggregating idle GPU capacity and making it available for AI training, video production, and high-end rendering workloads.
At the infrastructure level, JANCTION connects GPU servers to its platform, configuring them as computational nodes for AI and data processing, with results verified through the project's proprietary Layer-1 blockchain. The aim is to create a trustworthy, distributed compute layer rather than relying on centralised cloud providers.
The initiative combines that distributed GPU infrastructure with Smart Render technology. Together, JasmyLab and JANCTION are positioning themselves as connective tissue between data, computing power, and the trust layer that AI-driven workflows increasingly require.
Jasmy's collaboration with Panasonic has already moved through at least one completed phase, which included expanding Personal Data Locker functions to a smartphone app and integrating Japan's My Number Card identity verification system. The GPU computing initiative represents a meaningful broadening of scope, moving the partnership beyond data management and into active compute provision.
$JASMY, the project's native token, was founded by former Sony executives in 2016 and listed on exchanges in 2021.
