Chipotle is working with Palantir on a “food safety risk platform” hosted on Foundry, Palantir’s flagship data platform. The system reportedly brings together restaurant-level information to flag locations where risks may be increasing.

The news comes during a difficult stretch for both stocks. PLTR remains down roughly 3% in 2026, despite Palantir reporting 93% year-over-year revenue growth in Q2.

Meanwhile, CMG plunged 5.94% Tuesday to $34.83, amid a broader restaurant-stock selloff.

What Is Palantir Doing for Chipotle?

The platform reportedly combines signals such as health inspection results, pest incidents and employee illnesses to produce restaurant-level risk assessments.

The idea is straightforward: instead of waiting for a serious incident, Chipotle could use data to identify locations that may need attention earlier.

For CMG, that matters given the company's history of food-safety incidents and the reputational damage that can follow an outbreak.

Why the Chipotle Deal Matters for PLTR Stock

One Chipotle project is unlikely to transform Palantir's financial results by itself. The bigger story is where Foundry is spreading.

Palantir built its reputation in government and defense, but commercial customers have become increasingly important. Its software is now being deployed across manufacturing, healthcare, supply chains and other corporate operations.

That expansion was also visible when Palantir and Nvidia deepened their AI supply-chain partnership.

Palantir's rapid growth has helped support the PLTR story even as its valuation remains a major focus for investors. Q2 revenue surged 93% from a year earlier, though PLTR is still slightly negative for the year.

CMG Stock Is Already Under Pressure

Chipotle's Palantir project arrives at a difficult moment for restaurant stocks.

CMG's 5.94% Tuesday drop came as investors worried about high oil prices, inflation and weakening consumer spending. Restaurant prices were up 3.4% year over year, adding pressure as consumers increasingly weigh eating out against cheaper meals at home.

That makes operational efficiency increasingly important for Chipotle.
