Crypto enthusiast Mason Versluis expects XRP to trade between $5 and $10 in the next bull run. He believes holders should keep their expectations in check, pushing back against predictions that the token could climb to $500, $1,000 or even $10,000 in the coming cycle.
In a video attached to his X post, titled “My Expectations For The Next $XRP Bull Run,” Versluis explained why his outlook has changed over the years. He acknowledged that he previously made similarly ambitious predictions but now considers more moderate targets reasonable for the next major rally.
“I used to be one of them,” he said, referring to influencers who promote extremely high XRP price targets. Versluis described his change of opinion as a willingness to acknowledge that his earlier expectations were unrealistic.
Why Versluis Favors a $5 to $10 Target
Versluis made a distinction between XRP’s potential long-term price and what investors should expect during the next bull run. He did not rule out the possibility of XRP reaching hundreds of dollars or more in the future. However, he stated that investors should not treat those outcomes as realistic expectations for the next market cycle.
“Not saying it couldn’t reach those one day, but the next one, you should expect $5 to $10 conservatively,” he said.
His forecast places XRP’s next potential rally well below the targets promoted by some crypto commentators. Rather than encourage expectations of an immediate move into the hundreds or thousands of dollars, Versluis believes investors should prepare for a more modest increase.
He also criticized creators who continue to promote extremely high price predictions without accounting for the distance XRP would need to travel to reach those levels.
XRP Holders Question the Forecast
The comments beneath Versluis’ post revealed differing opinions about XRP’s prospects. Some users welcomed the possibility of a strong rally, while others questioned whether the token could reach even his lower targets.
Crypto user cryptos_smalls rejected the $5 to $10 forecast, citing XRP’s circulating supply and tokenomics. The commenter claimed that circulating supply stands at 63 billion XRP and increases by approximately four billion tokens annually. They argued that a growing supply could put downward pressure on the price and noted that XRP has yet to reach $4.
Jonezy raised a separate concern about Ripple’s scheduled XRP releases. The commenter noted that Ripple could sell substantial amounts of XRP as its price rises, creating additional selling pressure. Ripple releases XRP from escrow under a monthly schedule, although the amount released does not automatically equal the amount sold on the open market.
X Finance Bull offered a more optimistic response, stating that a strong rally would mean a great deal to holders after their experience with XRP.
Versluis’ forecast ultimately reflects a more cautious outlook for the next market cycle. Whether XRP reaches $5, $10 or falls short of those levels will depend on market demand, liquidity, investor sentiment and other factors that price predictions alone cannot establish.
