XRP News Today: What the 73.6M-Share Filing Means for Holders

Two filings and reports landed at the end of October. Evernorth, the Nasdaq-listed company built to hold the coin, asked the SEC to register more than 73 million shares so early holders can sell them.

Ripple also published its September attestation for RLUSD, showing reserves above supply.

Meanwhile, the chart had one of its quietest days in weeks. XRP News Today explains both stories in plain words, using the filings themselves.

Fresh Price Update: A 0.9% Range on the Quietest Day in Weeks

The coin was trading near $1.25, up 0.61% over 24 hours, after moving in a band of only about 0.9%.

The chart opened near $1.247, dipped to about $1.246 in the evening, and then climbed in small waves to a high near $1.257 around 4 PM on the chart’s clock.

The whole day stayed inside a band of about 0.9%, by our math. Volume fell more than 60% to about $787 million, the lowest of any snapshot in our recent coverage.

Readers following XRP news today should know that the filings below arrived on a weekend, when trading is thin.

Evernorth Files to Let Early Holders Sell

Evernorth became a public company on October 9 through a merger with a SPAC, a company created only to merge with another business and take it public.

Many early holders received their stock in private deals, so they cannot sell on the market yet.

According tothe filing dated October 30, 2026 (filing index), Evernorth registered up to 73,688,162 Class A shares and 239,653 warrants for these holders to resell.

A warrant is a right to buy a share at a fixed price, here $11.50. Evernorth receives no money from these sales, except if warrants are exercised.

Shares from exchanging company units

Total

73,688,162

The size needs context. Only 26,094,680 Class A shares were outstanding on October 22, so the registered amount is about 2.8 times that, by our math, because most of it is not yet in Class A form.

At the last price reported on October 29, $14.71, the full amount is worth about $1.08 billion, also by our math.

Why a Filing Is Not a Sale

Registration gives holders the ability to sell. It does not mean they will.

Here is what the filing adds:

  • Lock-ups: Ripple, the Arrington fund and company insiders agreed to hold their stock until six months after the closing, which is about April 9, 2027, with some exceptions.

  • Company tools: on October 23, Evernorth set up a facility with Cantor that lets it sell up to 5,218,935 new shares at 97% of the average market price, and the filing warns this could dilute existing owners. It also issued $30 million of 4% notes due in 2031.

  • The coin count: Ripple contributed 126,791,458 coins, the Arrington fund 211,319,096, and a related trust 50,000,000. Investors added 800,000 more directly, which totals about 389 million contributed coins, by our math. That fits the roughly 473 million reported at closing once cash purchases are included.

  • The price gap: the coin was valued at $1.43069 when the deal closed and $2.36609 when it was signed. At $1.25, it is about 12% below the first and about 47% below the second, by our math.

Evernorth’s strategy is to hold the coin, grow the amount per share, earn yield by lending it, and expand in Japan and South Korea.

The filing warns that its stock will track the coin’s price closely. Anyone following XRP news today should read the filing as a roadmap for later, not a sale starting now.

RLUSD’s September Attestation: Reserves Above Supply

RLUSD is Ripple’s stablecoin, a digital coin backed by U.S. dollars. Its issuer, Standard Custody & Trust Company, publishes monthly reports from an independent accountant on Ripple’stransparency page.

The page shows live balances as of October 29, 2026:

Balance

Amount

Total circulating RLUSD

$2,627.0M

Reserve funds

$2,758.6M

Reserves minus circulation (our math)

$131.6M

The issuer is chartered by New York’s financial regulator as a limited purpose trust company, which requires the reserves to be highly liquid, short-term, and kept in segregated accounts.

Reserves above 100% mean every coin has a dollar behind it, with extra on top.

Conclusion

Evernorth’s filing opens the door for early holders to sell, but lock-ups run until about April 2027.

For XRP news today, the smartest approach is to follow the confirmed documents and ignore the hype.
