Hashrate measures the total number of computational guesses miners make each second as they compete to add the next block. It is the clearest proxy for how much mining hardware, and therefore energy and capital, is actively securing the network. The near-1 ZH/s reading confirms Bitcoin's security budget and difficulty remain near all-time highs even as the first hashrate dip in six years signals strategic reallocation rather than distress.
