- RSI weakness creates bearish divergence risk unless Bitcoin breaks $80K.
Bitcoin price is trading near $77,154, down 0.37%, while traders watch resistance around $80,000. The market recently swept liquidity below the lows, with analyst Michaël van de Poppe targeting $82,700.
Meanwhile, CryptoQuant reported a cycle momentum signal suggesting a possible shift from the current downtrend toward a bullish reversal.
The $62,000–$65,000 region also remains a major cost-basis cluster. Crypto Patel noted that substantial Bitcoin accumulation occurred within this range, potentially making it an important support area during future declines.
Bitcoin Price Gains Support From Strong Holder Positioning
Bitcoin price continues to trade well above the $62,000–$65,000 accumulation zone. The large concentration of holders in this range could create stronger demand if the market experiences a deeper correction.
Van de Poppe said Bitcoin likely swept liquidity beneath recent lows before moving higher. He expects the next major level near $82,700 if buyers maintain control.
CryptoQuant also pointed to cycle momentum data that signals a potential bearish-market reversal. The indicator suggests Bitcoin could be preparing to break its broader downtrend, although price confirmation remains necessary.
The current structure still faces a key test near $80,000. Repeated attempts to move above that level have failed to establish a sustained breakout.
Bitcoin Price Technical Setup Shows Diverging Momentum
The daily chart shows Bitcoin price testing a descending trendline that has capped gains since the February 2026 peak near $97,500. The RSI currently stands at 64.46, down from 76.02, creating a potential bearish divergence.

A sustained move above $80,000 would weaken that bearish setup and expose the $85,000–$87,500 range. Conversely, rejection could send Bitcoin toward $75,000, with the 50-day SMA offering another support reference.
At press time, Bitcoin price remains caught between nearby resistance and support, leaving the $80,000 breakout level central to the next directional move.
