Bitget has extended its Open API to contracts for difference, letting algorithmic traders reach gold, forex, stock indices and crude oil through their existing crypto setups.
Bitget CFD API
The exchange said the CFD Open API lets users automate order execution, pull account and real-time market data, transfer funds, and set take-profit and stop-loss levels.
Existing API customers do not have to build a separate connection, and they can run crypto and CFD strategies from the same environment. Orders must carry the instrument code matching the trader's account mode.
Bitget aimed the change at traders who run strategies across crypto and traditional markets, where research, monitoring and execution often sit on separate systems.
Gracy Chen, Bitget's CEO, said traders need more than extra markets. "By extending API access to CFDs, we are enabling developers, quantitative traders, and other API users to incorporate global markets into the systems and strategies they already use," she said.
The API work lands amid a wider push beyond digital assets.
Bitget has said non-crypto products peaked at 40% of its trading volume in its eighth year, with stocks, derivatives and institutional clients in focus. The company also reported August reserves averaging $382 million, held in a pool backed by Bitcoin(BTC) that moved between $345.3 million and $441.5 million.
