- BNB is testing support between $726 and $732 after a weekly drop of almost 4.5%.
- A descending triangle on the 4-hour chart is approaching its apex around October 17.
- The daily chart shows a completed double top, with the 50-day EMA at $734 under pressure.
- Tokens launched on BNB Chain hold 51% of all new token value created in 2026, according to CryptoRank.
BNB is trading near $733 on Wednesday, October 14, down 1.5% on the day and close to 4.5% over the past week, as the token presses against a support zone between $726 and $732 that has held through every sell-off since October 8. Sellers have pushed each bounce lower since BNB peaked near $810 on October 5, and the daily chart now shows a completed double top with price sitting on its 50-day moving average. The weakness comes in the same week CryptoRank reported that tokens launched on BNB Chain account for half of all new token value created in 2026, although that activity has so far done little for the price of its native coin.
A third lower high at $745 leaves BNB pinned to the $726 floor
BNB has spent the past ten days inside a descending triangle on the 4-hour chart, with each rally since the October 5 peak stalling at a lower level than the one before it. Sellers capped price around $797 early in the move, again near $757 on October 12, and most recently at roughly $745 on Wednesday, while the floor between $726 and $732 has absorbed every test so far. The October 8 flush was the clearest example, as a single 4-hour candle dropped more than 4% from $762 and wicked as low as $716 before buyers pulled it back above support. A similar rejection on October 13 left a wick near $722.

The two trendlines converge around October 17, leaving BNB very little room to keep compressing. Breaks this deep into the apex tend to carry less follow-through than early ones. Whichever side wins the next decisive 4-hour close will likely need a fresh surge in participation to make the move stick.
A close below $726 would confirm the breakdown, and measuring the height of the triangle from its widest point projects a move toward roughly $660. The RSI is the main argument against rushing into that scenario. While price revisited the same support on October 13, the indicator bottomed near 31, compared with an oversold reading close to 21 on October 8, a bullish divergence that suggests selling pressure is weakening with each attempt to break the floor. RSI now sits around 36, so a fresh test of support that keeps the indicator above its October 8 low would strengthen the case that $726 survives again.
On the upside, the setup is invalidated if BNB closes a 4-hour candle above the falling trendline and reclaims $750, a level that held as support at the September 29 and 30 lows before turning into resistance during the current decline. Until one of those two levels breaks, the structure favors sellers. The divergence and repeated defense of support still leave a bear trap as a realistic alternative.
Broken $755 neckline puts the 50-day EMA at $734 under pressure
The daily timeframe puts the 4-hour triangle in a less comfortable context, since BNB has carved out a double top after failing twice near $810, first on September 23 and again on October 5. The low between those two peaks sat around $755, and the October 8 sell-off broke straight through that neckline, which completes the pattern and projects a move toward roughly $700 based on the distance between the tops and the neckline.

BNB is now sitting directly on its 50-day EMA at $734, a line that has supported every pullback since the rally from the early July low near $537 began, and at the time of writing, Wednesday’s candle was trading slightly below it. The MACD adds weight to the bearish read, as the MACD line has slipped below zero for the first time since early August and the histogram has printed red bars since the bearish crossover in late September.
Using the Fibonacci retracement of the July to October rally, the 0.236 level near $746 sits just under the broken neckline and forms a resistance cluster that BNB would need to clear to cancel both the double top and the 4-hour triangle. Below current prices, the 0.382 retracement around $706 lines up with the double top target and the mid-September consolidation lows, while the 200-day EMA sits at $686. That makes the $686 to $706 band the most likely area for buyers to step in if $726 gives way.
The broader structure still belongs to the bulls, because the 50-day EMA crossed above the 200-day in early September and remains well above it, so even a drop to the 0.5 retracement near $674 would count as an ordinary pullback within the uptrend. That changes only if BNB closes below the 200-day EMA, which would put the 0.618 level at $642 in play and bring the 4-hour triangle target of roughly $660 into the same zone. A daily close back above $755 would trap the late sellers and reopen the path toward the $810 highs.
BNB Chain’s $6.4B launch lead has not lifted BNB’s price
The chart weakness contrasts with what is happening on the network. CryptoRank counts 732 token launches so far in 2026, and those deployed on BNB Chain now hold around $6.4B in combined market value, or 51% of the total. Ethereum follows with $2.8B and Solana with $1B, while Robinhood Chain, Bittensor and Base together add just over $2B. BNB Chain’s cohort alone is worth more than the other five networks on the list combined.
Much of that lead traces back to Binance. Projects launched on BNB Chain sit closest to the exchange’s listing funnel, including Binance Alpha, which has historically featured mostly BNB Chain assets, and PancakeSwap gives new tokens deep liquidity from the first day. The link to BNB’s price is weaker than the headline suggests. Fees on the chain are low by design, so even heavy launch activity creates limited buying pressure for BNB as gas. New token valuations also rest on small circulating supplies, with large allocations still locked, which means the $6.4B figure reflects where attention has gone rather than capital that can move into BNB.
October 17 apex and token unlocks will decide BNB’s next leg
The nearest deadline is technical. The 4-hour triangle runs out of room around October 17, and a decisive close outside $726 to $750 should settle whether the double top target near $700 comes into play or the late sellers get squeezed. Over a longer horizon, the question is whether BNB Chain’s launch share holds near half as locked supply from this year’s tokens starts reaching the market, and the BNB Foundation’s next quarterly BNB burn report will show how much of the network’s 2026 activity has turned into reduced supply.
