Can Bitcoin Price Regain Momentum Despite Waning Social Interest?
CryptoCompass editorial visual for markets coverage.

Key Insights:

  • Google search interest in BTC falls as Bitcoin price trades near a key support level.
  • Analysts compare the current BTC price with patterns seen in past market cycles.
  • Falling Bitcoin dominance raises fresh hopes for a move into altcoins.

Bitcoin price is sitting near an important support level of $65,000 even as public interest continues to fade. Google search activity has dropped, while analysts are pointing to past market cycles and changes in Bitcoin dominance to explain what could come next. Many traders are now watching to see whether history will follow a familiar path once again.

However, investors should note that this is not financial advice and is based on historical trends. As historical performance doesn’t guarantee future returns, traders must exercise due diligence or seek advice from a licensed financial advisor before placing their bets, as cryptocurrencies are highly volatile assets.

Bitcoin Price Holds Key Level As Search Interest Drops

Bitcoin price is trading near the lower end of its Power Law cycle channel at a time when fewer people are searching for Bitcoin online. According to data shared by Cryptollica, a pseudonymous on-chain analyst on X, Google Trends has fallen back to levels that show very little public interest.

The market analyst believes this weak interest is being driven by fear instead of excitement. Many people are staying on the sidelines because they expect prices to fall further. That has left the market quiet even though the price of Bitcoin is sitting at an area that many traders consider important.

Cryptollica said fear is now doing most of the work in the market. The view is that many buyers usually return only after prices have already moved higher. By then, Bitcoin often becomes much more expensive than it was during periods of low interest.

This is not the first time something like this has happened. In earlier market cycles, public interest stayed low around important price levels. Search activity only picked up after Bitcoin had already made a strong move.

For now, the BTC price remains close to a level that many traders are watching. A strong bounce could bring confidence back into the market. If that does not happen, interest may stay weak for some time.

Bitcoin’s Past Market Cycles Show A Similar Pattern

In a separate development, Crypto Patel believes Bitcoin is showing a pattern that has appeared in every major market cycle.

The market analyst pointed to the 2014 market top near $1,240, which was followed by an 83% decline. After the 2018 peak around $19,000, Bitcoin dropped by about 84%. The same happened after the 2022 high near $69,000, when the market fell by about 78%.

Now the analyst says the same long-term signal is pointing to the next cycle bottom. While every market is different, the chart shows that Bitcoin price has followed a similar path after each major peak.

Crypto Patel also said the best time to buy has often been before the wider market becomes interested again. Once large numbers of people return, prices are usually much higher.

That does not mean the next move will be exactly the same as before. Still, many traders continue to compare the current BTC price with earlier cycles because those patterns have repeated over the years. The price of Bitcoin will remain in focus as traders wait to see whether this cycle follows the same direction.

BTC Price Dominance Could Decide The Next Move

Another point attracting attention is Bitcoin dominance. Master of Crypto noted that this cycle has already been different because Bitcoin price reached a new all-time high before the halving, something that had not happened before.

The analyst now says Bitcoin dominance is starting to fall, which is also evidenced by the CoinMarketCap data. If that trend continues, some money could begin moving into altcoins instead of staying in Bitcoin.

Even so, the analyst added that a bigger move into altcoins will need more money coming into the market and stronger participation from investors. Without that, any change may not last very long.

For now, traders are keeping a close eye on several signals at the same time. They are watching Google search activity, Bitcoin dominance, and the BTC price to see whether the market is close to another turning point. Until there is a clearer move, many are choosing to wait and see what happens next.
