What is Circle?
Launched in 2013, Circle is a crypto company that is best known for issuing the USDC stablecoin.
A stablecoin is a type of cryptocurrency that tries to stabilize its value by getting pegged to a so-called stable asset like a fiat currency.
The most popular type of stablecoin is the one pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar. In short, a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin is a digital dollar that exists on a blockchain network.
As per the onchain analytics platform DeFiLlama, Circle's USDC has a market cap of $72.6 billion and accounts for over 24% of the stablecoin segment.

When Circle went public in June last year, its stock opened at $69, 124% higher than the IPO price of $31.
The signing of the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act in July last year gave legitimacy to dollar stablecoins.
But the banking industry has opposed the provision regarding stablecoin rewards in the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. Companies like Circle are, however, fighting back.

The list refreshes every Friday after the U.S. market close.

Committee member John Slazas, who is the founder of the trading platform MKT.TRADE, explained the reasons behind the crypto company receiving a boost on the power ranking.
One, Circle's USDC stablecoin hit $73.3 billion in circulation at the end of the second quarter of 2026, up 19% year-over-year (YoY).
Two, Circle received approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) in July to operate as a national trust bank in the U.S.
Three, the European Banking Authority (EBA) last week classified USDC as a "significant e-money token" under the EU's crypto rules.
"The reserve and redemption side of USDC is moving under named supervisors on both sides of the Atlantic," the RTB 100 analyst wrote.
Slazas also flagged the risks associated with Circle.
One, CFO Jeremy Fox-Geen announced last month that he will step down from the role by the end of the year.
Two, Circle's income varies with interest rates. It's so because a stablecoin company generates a vast portion of its revenue by investing the money backing their coins in short-term U.S. Treasury bills and cash equivalents and earning interest on these reserves.
