Dogecoin ($DOGE) holders can send tips to any account on X through the MyDoge wallet, including recipients who have never used the app. The feature is run through the @MyDogeTip bot and relies on a request-and-confirm process rather than an instant transfer.
How MyDoge tipping on X works
@MyDoge users start a tip by posting to @MyDogeTip. The post includes the command 'tip', the recipient's user handle, and an amount. The post alone does not move any funds. The sender is required to confirm the tip from the MyDoge app.MyDoge never has access to the user's Dogecoin, and tips go directly from the sender's wallet to the recipient's wallet.
Recipients do not need to be existing users. If the recipient does not have the app or has not linked their X account, the tip shows as pending. Once that person creates a MyDoge wallet and links their account, the sender can complete the tip. In the current V3 version, the one thing that requires the Social Wallet is MyDogeTip, since tipping runs through the user's X account. The DogeOS team also notes that the sender connects their X account through MyDoge, posts the tip with the recipient and amount, and confirms it from the wallet. The network fee is paid by the sender when the tip is confirmed.
For recipients who are not yet set up, the bot replies with upgrade instructions. In recent bot replies, users are told to get MyDoge v3, connect X in the side menu, then post the tip again.
MyDoge now part of Dogecoin Labs
The tipping tool sits inside a newly reorganised Dogecoin ecosystem. Dogecoin Labs, a new company set up with the Dogecoin Foundation, launched on Wednesday to run the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS application layer and Such App, a merchant payments tool.Jordan Jefferson, who founded MyDoge and DogeOS, is CEO.
The Foundation signed an agreement making Labs its official commercial partner, while it keeps its stewardship, open-source and community role.MyDoge says it has more than 500,000 users and recently rolled out V3.DogeOS, an EVM-compatible app environment for DOGE, opened a public testnet on Sept. 30, though no mainnet date has been given.
According to Benzinga, Dogecoin Labs aims to expand DOGE's utility beyond trading and tipping, with applications across payments, commerce, DeFi, gaming, artificial intelligence and social platforms. Tipping, long associated with Dogecoin's early internet culture, remains one of the simplest ways for new users to receive DOGE without setting up an exchange account first.
