Draper University has announced the Apex Growth Accelerator, a 10-week Silicon Valley residency program created in partnership with the Cardano Foundation and Orion Fund to scale early-stage Web3 startups. Applications for the program are now open, giving @Cardano founders a direct route to institutional capital and one of Silicon Valley's most established entrepreneurial networks.

What the Program Offers

The Apex Growth Accelerator is a fully in-person residency at Draper University's San Mateo campus, providing seed funding of up to $70,000 for a target 3.5% equity stake.Selected teams also receive mentorship from world-class founders, operators and investors, fundraising and go-to-market support, direct access to Silicon Valley venture funds, and a dedicated Demo Day with Web3 investors.

The program will host a single cohort of 10 companies beginning October 12, with applications closing September 1.An optional four-week extension is also available after the residency ends.

Organizers describe Apex as a growth accelerator for "investor-ready startups," meaning ventures that can already point to a tangible product or a defined business model, rather than ideas at an early conceptual stage. The accelerator focuses on high-growth financial verticals, specifically real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, institutional decentralized finance (DeFi), and enterprise-grade blockchain infrastructure.

Equity Model and Ecosystem Goals

Unlike grant-based accelerators, the program's equity model links founder performance directly to long-term ecosystem health, aiming to boost Cardano's total value locked (TVL) and on-chain activity over time. The initiative is a collaboration with Cometa Labs, Draper Dragon's in-house venture studio, and the Cardano Foundation, with additional support from Orion Fund.

Financial backing for the program stems from its integration with the Orion Fund, an $80 million strategic fund announced in April 2026 in collaboration with Draper Dragon.Billionaire investor Tim Draper is backing the opportunity for entrepreneurs building within the Cardano ecosystem through the Apex Growth Accelerator.Draper founded Draper University as a global human accelerator and has previously funded companies including Baidu, Tesla, Skype, SpaceX, Coinbase and other unicorns, with a total of over 50 funded from the seed stage.

For @Cardano founders ready to scale, the deadline to apply is September 1, 2026.
