Evernorth is building an active XRP treasury. Crypto analyst Xaif (@Xaif_Crypto) highlighted the strategy after CEO Asheesh Birla spoke at the Nasdaq closing bell ceremony on October 14.

The Ripple-backed company holds approximately 473 million XRP and intends to put that capital to work generating yield, with every gain flowing back into increasing XRP per share.

Xaif summarized it, writing, “The goal isn’t simply to hold XRP. It’s to put XRP to work, generate yield, and use that yield to grow the amount of XRP backing each share.” That is the engine Evernorth is building.

Birla Explains the Yield Strategy

Birla shared his closing bell vision for Evernorth, drawing attention to two yield channels it is pursuing. On-chain opportunities exist as XRP expands its presence in the DeFi ecosystem. Off-chain opportunities exist through institutional partnerships.

Birla said the goal is to “generate an increased XRP per share,” adding that Evernorth will pursue yield opportunities around XRP through both channels. To execute this, Evernorth brought in Hugo Jeandesboz as Chief Investment Officer, arriving from Coinbase and HSBC.

Birla described Hugo as partnering with firms to “look at opportunities to put XRP to work.” That appointment signals Evernorth is building a team with both crypto-native and traditional finance experience to run an active treasury strategy.

This distinguishes Evernorth from a passive holding vehicle. Most crypto treasury companies accumulate an asset and hold it. Evernorth’s model targets yield generation on top of its holdings and reinvests that yield to increase the XRP backing each share over time. Because of this design, some see Evernorth as a better form of what MicroStrategy is to Bitcoin.

Why This Model Benefits XRP

Evernorth entered public markets as the largest publicly traded company devoted entirely to XRP. Its $1 billion-plus capital raise involved Ripple, SBI Holdings, Pantera Capital, Kraken, and GSR. It now holds approximately 473 million XRP and trades on Nasdaq under the ticker XRPN.

The active treasury approach creates sustained demand for XRP. Evernorth buys XRP on the open market to build its treasury, then uses that XRP to generate yield through on-chain DeFi activity and institutional lending. That yield is used to purchase more XRP.

More XRP raises the per-share backing. That cycle, if executed consistently, creates ongoing buy pressure. XRPN began trading on October 12 and rang the Nasdaq closing bell two days later.
