Gimlet Labs valuation hit $3 billion as the two-year-old AI startup raised $300 million in a Series B led by Andreessen Horowitz, the company announced Friday.

Key Takeaways

Gimlet Labs raised $300 million in a Series B led by Andreessen Horowitz, reaching a $3 billion valuation The platform routes AI inference workloads across chips from six makers: Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Arm, Cerebras and d-Matrix A Bitcoin mining company that pivoted to AI cloud infrastructure closed a $3 billion raise last month, reaching a $30 billion valuation Gimlet has not disclosed its customer count or revenue

The round funds what Gimlet calls the industry's first multi-silicon inference cloud, a platform that routes AI inference workloads across chips from six makers- Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Arm, Cerebras and d-Matrix, according to the release. The software lets developers write inference code once and route it to whichever chip is cheapest or fastest at that moment, locking customers out of no single vendor.

How The Gimlet Labs Valuation Jumped To $3 Billion

That figure places Gimlet among a small group of AI infrastructure firms valued in the billions without designing their own chips.

Gimlet's core argument is that agentic AI, systems that chain several inference steps together, call outside tools and take actions without human approval, shifts unpredictably between short bursts and long reasoning chains.

A single-chip setup wastes money on whichever step it wasn't built for. Sitting above every chip rather than betting on one architecture is the product thesis the $3 billion valuation has to justify.

AI Infrastructure's Funding Rush Isn't New

Gimlet's raise follows several large AI infrastructure rounds this year.

A Bitcoin (BTC) mining company that pivoted to AI cloud infrastructure closed a $3 billion raise last month, pushing its own valuation to $30 billion, a sign of how fast capital has moved from mining rigs toward GPU clusters. Gimlet's valuation sits roughly one-tenth of that figure, tracking the size gap between the two rounds themselves.

The Multi-Chip Bet Still Has To Prove Itself

Gimlet has not disclosed its customer count or revenue.

The $3 billion valuation is a bet on future demand, not current receipts, and it carries a structural risk: it depends on Nvidia, AMD, Intel and Cerebras continuing to let a third party handle chip orchestration rather than building that layer themselves. If any of the six partners pulls back access, the promise of running anywhere loses one of its legs.
