@Grayscale has listed its Zcash ETF on NYSE Arca under the ticker $ZCSH, making it the first exchange-traded product in the United States to offer exposure to a privacy-focused cryptocurrency.
A Historic First for Privacy Coins
The product is a conversion of the Grayscale Zcash Trust, which was originally launched as a private placement in 2017. With the NYSE Arca listing now live, the vehicle has been formally renamed The Zcash ETF. The trust holds $ZEC, the native token of the Zcash network, a privacy-oriented blockchain that uses zero-knowledge proofs to shield transaction details.
The launch signals a notable shift in regulatory appetite. Privacy coins have historically faced close scrutiny from U.S. regulators, and the SEC's willingness to greenlight a shielded-asset product marks a meaningful change in posture for the industry. For investors who have wanted regulated, exchange-traded access to $ZEC without holding the token directly, $ZCSH now provides that route.
