XRP price gave traders very few surprises this week. The token moved within a narrow range before returning close to its opening level. However, the calm weekly performance may not last much longer.

Bitcoin remains near an important resistance zone, Ripple faces another week of regulatory uncertainty, and XRP has started forming an ascending trendline. Those factors could determine whether XRP price pushes above $1.20 or returns toward $1.00 during the coming week.

XRP began the week near $1.09 before dropping to a weekly low around $1.08. The price later recovered alongside several major cryptocurrencies and reached approximately $1.16.

That recovery proved difficult to maintain. XRP declined again and returned to roughly $1.09, leaving the token almost unchanged from where it opened the week.

The movement revealed 2 important price levels. Buyers continued defending the area near $1.08, although XRP struggled to remain above the $1.15 resistance.

A stronger move outside that range could decide where XRP price goes next.

Bitcoin, the CLARITY Act, and ETF Flows Could Affect XRP Price

Several market and regulatory factors could influence XRP price during the coming week. Bitcoin’s direction remains one of the most important because BTC often controls liquidity across the wider crypto market.

Bitcoin recently failed to break the $66,000 resistance and returned toward $64,000. Further weakness below $60,000 could pressure XRP and bring the $1.00 support back into view.

Sideways Bitcoin movement could produce a different result. Capital sometimes moves toward major altcoins when BTC trades inside a narrow range. Such conditions could give XRP more room to recover without a major Bitcoin rally.

Regulatory developments may have an even greater effect because XRP remains highly sensitive to policy news from the United States. The CLARITY Act would classify XRP as a digital commodity and provide clearer legal protection.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent previously described the bill as being on the “1 yard line” before the August Senate recess. Senate Majority Leader John Thune has since indicated that the proposal will probably miss that window.

The bill does not need to pass this week before it affects XRP price. Updates about a possible delay, renewed negotiations, or another Senate disagreement could create wide price moves.

Confidence that the legislation will pass this year has fallen to approximately 42% on Polymarket. The lower probability has accompanied XRP’s consolidation near $1.10.

A partisan dispute involving ethics provisions connected to President Donald Trump remains another obstacle. Fresh comments from lawmakers such as Chuck Schumer or Cynthia Lummis could change expectations during the week.

Institutional demand deserves equal attention. Spot XRP ETFs have connected the token more closely to Wall Street capital, which makes daily fund flows an important market signal.

Whale accumulation remained strong earlier in the summer. Recent spot ETF outflows have placed more pressure on XRP price. Upcoming institutional purchase data could show whether demand is returning or weakness is continuing.

XRP Price Is Testing Support Along an Ascending Trendline

A look at the XRP chart shows an ascending trendline beneath the latest price movement. XRP has started to use the upper part of this pattern as support, which creates a possible base for another recovery.

Continued support above the trendline could allow XRP price to return toward $1.20. Stronger buying pressure could then produce a new short term high between $1.20 and $1.30.

XRP Chart Showing an Ascending Trendline

The trendline remains the key part of this setup. A clear break below it would weaken the bullish structure and could send XRP toward $1.008.

Further selling below $1.008 would expose the next major support near $0.90. That lower target may become more likely if Bitcoin falls below $60,000 or regulatory concerns increase.

Current chart levels therefore create a clear divide. Support above the ascending trendline favors another recovery, although a breakdown would open the path toward deeper support.

XRP Has Traded Sideways Between $1.08 and $1.15 for 6 Weeks

The weekly XRP chart provides another view of the current structure. XRP price has traded mainly inside a sideways pattern during the past 6 weeks, with most major moves occurring between $1.08 and $1.15.

XRP attempted to move above the $1.15 resistance this week. The breakout lost strength, and the token returned to approximately $1.09.

A successful move above $1.15 during the coming week would strengthen the bullish case. XRP could then target $1.20 before testing the upper price area near $1.30.

XRP Chart Showing a Weekly Consolidation

Continued rejection would keep the sideways structure intact. XRP price could remain between $1.08 and $1.15 until Bitcoin, ETF flows, or regulatory news provides a stronger catalyst.

A weekly break below $1.08 would create a more bearish picture. That outcome could send XRP toward $1.00 before opening another possible move toward $0.90.

Weekly XRP Indicators Still Favor the Bearish Case

XRP’s weekly indicators remain mostly bearish. Each reading shows weak momentum, so the token still needs stronger demand before a sustained recovery becomes more convincing.

IndicatorValueReadingRSI (14)34.005SellMACD (12, 26)-0.223SellUltimate Oscillator37.794Sell

The RSI reading of 34.005 places XRP close to oversold territory, although it has not produced a confirmed recovery signal. Buyers would need to push the RSI higher before momentum improves.

The MACD remains negative at minus 0.223. This reading shows that bearish pressure still controls the broader weekly trend.

The Ultimate Oscillator stands at 37.794 and carries another sell reading. This indicator combines several periods to measure buying and selling pressure, and its current value supports a cautious outlook.

These indicators do not guarantee another decline. However, all 3 currently favor the bearish side and show why XRP needs a firm breakout above $1.15.

XRP Price Could Follow 3 Main Scenarios This Coming Week

Bullish XRP Price Prediction

XRP could hold the ascending trendline and reclaim the $1.15 resistance. A confirmed breakout above that level may carry the price past $1.20 before opening a possible move toward $1.30.

This scenario would become stronger if Bitcoin holds above $64,000, XRP ETF flows improve, or positive CLARITY Act updates emerge.

Neutral XRP Price Prediction

XRP price could remain trapped between $1.08 and $1.15. Continued Bitcoin consolidation and limited regulatory progress may keep the token inside its 6 week range.

Repeated moves between support and resistance would leave traders waiting for a confirmed breakout. XRP may spend another week near $1.10 under this scenario.

Bearish XRP Price Prediction

XRP could break below the ascending trendline and lose the $1.08 support. The first major downside target would appear near $1.008 before the focus turns toward $0.90.

Bitcoin weakness below $60,000, additional ETF outflows, or negative legislative updates could support this outcome.

FAQs

Is it better to hold XRP or XRP ETF?

Choosing between holding raw XRP or an XRP ETF depends on your preference for account type, custody control, and fee structure. Key differences include tax-advantaged retirement access with ETFs versus direct ledger utility and zero management fees with raw tokens. Spot XRP ETFs (such as those offered by Bitwise and Canary Capital) trade on traditional U.S. brokerages.

How much will XRP be after the CLARITY Act passes?

If the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act passes, consensus financial analyst targets project XRP to initially re-rate to $1.60 to $2.20, with the potential to surge into the $5.00 to $10.00 range over the following months.
