@inter_link is introducing a KYC sponsorship mechanism as it enters the mainnet era for its $ITLG token. The project says the feature is designed to strengthen trust, speed up human verification and reward genuine contributions to the InterLink Network.
Anyone who has completed Level 1 KYC will be eligible to sponsor other users. By sponsoring, they can help new users, referred to as Linkers, establish their identity and join the verified network.
A credible sponsor can give a new user higher priority in the KYC verification process. It can also improve that user's $ITLG allocation rate.
Sponsors carry responsibility for the people they back. They are expected to make sure those users are genuine human participants. Attempts to abuse the system, sponsor fake accounts or manipulate verification may lead to an account being flagged for additional monitoring.
In return, sponsors who bring genuine participants into the network will be rewarded with transferable $ITLG. The project describes the system as more than a referral mechanism, one in which trust and real human contributions create value.
Why Verification Speed and Trust Matter for InterLink
InterLink is a human-centric blockchain. According to KuCoin, it uses Proof of Personhood to verify real users through facial recognition and liveness detection, with the aim of removing bots, Sybil attacks and fake accounts.
Verification capacity has been a pressure point. Coingabbar reported that the Human Network crossed 7 million users, and that more users meant longer queues and slower verification. Bitget Academy says InterLink has been rolling out 24-hour Curator coverage, an enhanced AI snapshot layer and multi-track queue processing to raise verification throughput. A sponsor-based priority route would add another way to move credible users through the queue.
Community posts on KuCoin Square also point to the accountability side of the model. One KuCoin Square post says impersonation, fraudulent referrals and manipulation could negatively affect account assessments. Another describes the upcoming mainnet KYC framework as emphasising verified identities, responsible sponsorship and stricter standards against manipulation.
Further mainnet plans include Vault participation, which would let ITLG be upgraded into non-transferable vITLG with annual reward opportunities, according to a KuCoin Square post on the mainnet rollout.
Because sponsors can be flagged for backing fake accounts, the model ties individual reputation to the quality of the people they bring in. How strictly InterLink enforces those checks will likely shape how fair the $ITLG distribution is seen to be.
