Kaspa price is under the gun, but a growing supply imbalance could become an important factor for KAS in the months ahead. The KAS price fell about 5.55% to $0.0322 in 24 hours in the setup provided, extending weakness across the broader crypto market.

Market data shows the KAS price closed at $0.0329 on September 15 after falling 5.76%, with the token trading as low as $0.0323 during the session.

The immediate pressure is tied to liquidity and broader market risk. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies moved lower after the U.S. Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act on September 15, with the procedural vote falling short of the 60 votes required. Reuters reported that the vote ended 50-49, adding another source of uncertainty for the wider crypto market.

That pressure is also visible in Kaspa exchange flows. A post from Kaspa Daily reported net inflows of 31.28 million KAS in one day, describing it as one of the largest daily inflows of the past month.

In simple terms, more KAS moving onto exchanges can increase the amount of supply immediately available for trading, especially if holders transfer coins with the intention of selling. That does not prove that all 31.28 million KAS will be sold, but it is an important short-term supply factor.

The bigger part of the Kaspa story comes from its tokenomics. Kaspa has a fixed estimated total supply of about 28.7 billion KAS, and its own documentation says roughly 95% of the total supply had already been mined by July 10, 2026.

That puts the network close to the end of its major emission phase, meaning the amount of newly created KAS entering circulation is becoming smaller relative to the existing supply.

Kaspa’s emission schedule is also different from Bitcoin’s four-year halving cycle. The Kaspa protocol reduces block rewards every month by a factor of (1/2)^(1/12), producing an approximately one-year halving cycle through its chromatic emission schedule. The official emission table shows the monthly reward falling from 72.32 million KAS in May 2026 to 57.40 million KAS by September 6, 2026.

This is where the supply-squeeze argument comes from. LearnKaspa pointed to the combination of more than 96% of the supply already mined, declining monthly emissions and potential future demand from applications on Kaspa. The idea is straightforward: if the number of newly issued coins keeps falling and demand for the available supply increases, sellers could eventually have less fresh supply to meet that demand.

There is also a technology component to the argument. Kaspa says Toccata, which introduced programmable UTXOs through covenants, transaction introspection, ZK verification and sequencing support, went live on mainnet on June 30, 2026. Its documentation lists vProgs as a technology still under construction, so claims that institutional applications and stablecoins are already about to compete for KAS supply should be treated as a future-use case rather than established demand.

For now, the KAS price remains stressed. The token has traded from about $0.0275 on September 1 to $0.0329 on September 15, showing that the market has recovered part of its early-September decline. The key question is whether future demand can eventually absorb the shrinking flow of newly mined KAS, because that is the mathematical foundation behind the potential supply-squeeze thesis.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Kaspa price right now❓

The KAS price is around $0.0322 based on the market data used in the article, after falling about 5.55% in 24 hours.

How much of Kaspa’s total supply has been mined❓

More than 95% of Kaspa’s total supply has already been mined. Kaspa’s monthly emission schedule also reduces block rewards, meaning the amount of newly created KAS entering circulation continues to decline.

Can Kaspa face a supply squeeze❓

Kaspa could face tighter available supply if its declining new issuance is combined with stronger demand for KAS. However, a supply squeeze is not guaranteed because exchange inflows, holder selling, market conditions, and actual network usage can all affect the amount of KAS available to buyers.
