A crypto holder claimed that 11,272 XRP was stolen from her account after she responded to what seemed to be a legitimate security alert from Google.
The incident was shared on X by crypto enthusiast Paulatalkscrypto, who posted a video in which the woman described how the alleged attack unfolded and warned other cryptocurrency users to be more cautious.
According to the woman, the incident occurred at around 7:09 p.m. She said she received an email that appeared to come from Google warning her about an attempted login to her account. She said the message appeared legitimate and directed her to a Google website after she selected the link.
She explained that she rejected the login attempt and later received a phone call from a United States number with a California area code. The caller, who claimed to be following up on the attempted login, told her someone was trying to gain access to her accounts.

The woman said the caller instructed her through steps intended to secure her account. She acknowledged that some aspects of the interaction were unusual but said the communication was coming from Google.
She later received an email connected to her Ledger device. According to her account, the email arrived less than 20 minutes after the earlier interaction.
She explained that she kept her cryptocurrency in a Ledger hardware wallet rather than leaving it online. She also discussed the 24-word recovery phrase associated with the device, emphasizing that users are generally expected to keep those words private because they provide access to their cryptocurrency.
However, she claimed the attackers somehow obtained information linked to her Ledger account to access and empty one of her crypto accounts.
The alleged theft involved 11,272 XRP, which she said represented her financial savings and was intended to support her future. During the video, she became emotional while explaining the personal impact of losing the funds.
She said she had lost her fingers and toes following a kidney stone-related incident approximately two and a half years ago and had been relying on her XRP holdings as a nest egg while waiting for a settlement.
The woman also expressed her belief in XRP’s long-term potential, saying she had expected the cryptocurrency to play a major role in cross-border payments. She said the loss was particularly painful because she had accumulated 11,272 XRP, expecting its future value could provide financial security.
