MemeCore: The Layer-1 Blockchain Redefining Meme FinanceMeme coins are no longer just jokes. They’re a multi-billion dollar asset class. Yet, they’ve always been guests on other chains. MemeCore aims to change that by building a dedicated Layer-1 blockchain infrastructure for meme culture and decentralized finance.Founded by Jun Ahn, MemeCore isn’t just another Ethereum clone. It’s a sovereign network designed from the ground up for meme tokens, community-driven projects, and cultural engagement. The core thesis is simple: memes deserve their own home. The Proof of Meme ConsensusMemeCore’s engine is Proof of Meme (PoM). This hybrid consensus merges elements of Proof of Stake (PoS) and Proof of Authority (PoA). Validators are selected through a governance-controlled delegation contract, refreshing every epoch (typically a day). This setup ensures consistent block production while maintaining decentralization. The validator set is capped at 100 participants. Candidates must stake a minimum amount of the native $M token to register. Slashing conditions exist for malicious behavior like double-signing, keeping the network secure and honest.Dual Rewards: The Economic FlywheelWhat makes MemeCore unique is its dual reward system. Block rewards are split between $M stakers and meme coin stakers. Validators and their $M delegators receive 75% of the block reward. The remaining 25% goes to those staking meme coins.Meme delegators pay a 15% commission to validators, while $M delegators pay 10%. This creates a symbiotic relationship between the native token and the broader meme ecosystem. It’s a clever way to bootstrap liquidity and engagement for new meme projects.Staking and Delegation MechanicsThe staking system is dynamic and competitive. Validators are ranked by total stake (self-delegation plus delegations). The top seven become active validators, producing blocks and earning rewards. Rankings refresh every 10 blocks (roughly 70 seconds).Delegators receive Xtokens as proof of their stake, which can be used within the ecosystem. An ERC-20 vault holds 5% of each token’s total supply, gradually released to stakers over a 1,000-day vesting period. Governance retains the authority to adjust this timeline.Memes.War: Play-to-AirdropMemeCore’s flagship game, Memes.War, is a Telegram-based play-to-airdrop experience. Players support existing guilds or create their own, accumulating War.Bond tokens. These tokens are locked into a guild’s Vault, contributing to seasonal Guild Raids.Airdrop points are earned by converting War.Bond (1,000 War.Bond = 10 points). Guilds with the highest Vault balances access special rewards. It’s a community-driven engagement loop designed to distribute value to active participants.Tokenomics and FundingThe $M token has a total supply capped at 10 billion. Allocation breaks down as follows:- 30% Community rewards and gameplay incentives- 20% Development fund- 15% Team and advisors (vested)- 15% Marketing and partnerships- 10% Liquidity provision- 10% Strategic reservesOn March 27th, 2025, MemeCore announced strategic investments from IBC Group, Waterdrip Capital, AC Capital, CatcherVC, K300 Ventures, WAGMI Ventures, and Click Capital. These funds will support infrastructure development and ecosystem expansion.Crynet’s Executive TakeMemeCore represents a strategic bet on the long-term viability of meme culture as a legitimate asset class. For crypto projects, the dual-reward mechanism offers a unique way to bootstrap liquidity and community engagement without relying on traditional DeFi incentives. The key risk remains execution—can they attract enough high-quality meme projects to sustain network effects? If successful, MemeCore could become the go-to launchpad for the next wave of cultural tokens. So, is a dedicated meme chain the future, or just another niche experiment? We’d love to hear your take.
