@MoonPay has gone live as a fiat on-ramp inside @TrustWallet, giving United States-based users a way to fund their wallets with debit cards or Apple Pay without ever leaving the app.

What Has Changed

The integration relies on @MoonPay's headless API, which means the entire purchase flow stays within the Trust Wallet interface. Previously, buying crypto through a wallet often meant getting handed off to a third-party checkout page. Now the entire flow stays inside Trust Wallet.MoonPay provides the payment and compliance plumbing in the background, while Trust Wallet controls what the user sees on screen.

US users can pay with debit or credit cards, or with Apple Pay. They can also save their preferred payment methods and link a MoonPay account, which makes repeat transactions faster. KYC verification, payment storage, and asset delivery all happen natively inside the app, removing the friction of web redirects that have historically disrupted checkout flows.

The Broader Context

Trust Wallet and MoonPay started working together in 2020, when MoonPay was plugged in as an on-ramp, the industry term for a service that converts regular money into crypto. The latest rollout upgrades that relationship by adopting the headless architecture @MoonPay launched in May 2026. MoonPay described Headless Onramps as the first native crypto checkout platform to deliver one-tap purchases via Apple Pay, cards, and Google Pay across the US, EEA, and 100-plus countries.

From a regulatory standpoint, the infrastructure carries meaningful compliance coverage. MoonPay holds a New York BitLicense, EU MiCA authorization, and money transmitter licenses in 47 US states. It also maintains PCI DSS 4.0.1 certification for card processing.

For Trust Wallet users in the US, the practical effect is straightforward: buying crypto now requires fewer steps, no browser handoffs, and no need to re-enter payment details on repeat purchases. The move reflects a broader industry push to reduce the gap between traditional payment habits and on-chain activity.
