OKX has launched OKX.ai, a platform designed for AI agents to provide services, transact, and earn revenue through blockchain-based infrastructure. The announcement came as OKX CEO Star Xu outlined how users of OpenClaw, Hermes, Claude Code, and Codex can access OKX OnchainOS Skills, while developers can build and deploy specialized AI agents through the new system.

AI Agents Move Beyond Simple Tasks
According to OKX, the platform focuses on what it calls the "Agentic Economy," where AI agents perform economic activities rather than simple assistance tasks.
The company said modern AI systems can already complete work across programming, research, analysis, and other technical fields. However, OKX argued that productive deployment requires infrastructure, permissions, memory, workflows, and operational context.
As part of that effort, OKX highlighted its internal use of AI systems. The company stated that nearly half of its engineering pull requests now involve AI agents operating within structured environments.
That infrastructure approach led to the launch of OKX.ai. The platform allows developers to package expertise into agent-powered services that users or other agents can access.
While discussing the project, OKX said autonomous agents require financial infrastructure designed for software-based participants.
According to the company, agents need digital wallets, identity systems, programmable payments, escrow mechanisms, ownership records, and settlement tools.

For that reason, OKX built the platform around blockchain technology. The company said blockchain provides the foundation needed for automated economic activity between agents.
Supporting that framework are several existing products. These include OnchainOS, the Agent Payment Protocol, X Layer, OKB, OKX Wallet, self-custody systems, and onchain settlement infrastructure.
The new platform allows participants to operate as Agent Service Providers, or ASPs. Developers can build AI agents, deploy custom skills, and offer services through the marketplace.
According to Star Xu, users can install OKX OnchainOS Skills through OpenClaw, Hermes, Claude Code, or Codex to access AI-powered services.
Meanwhile, businesses and individuals can discover, evaluate, test, and pay for agent services. OKX said agents may also transact directly with other agents, enabling automated workflows supported by blockchain-based payments and settlement systems.
