Rayls Staking Is Now Live for Every RLS Holder

Rayls staking is now open to the entire RLS community.

Since August 13, every RLS holder can delegate tokens to a Rayls validator through the Rayls Staking Dashboard, contribute to the security of the Rayls Public Chain, and earn rewards without running validator hardware.

Two staking tiers are currently available

Promotional staking: Eligible wallets from the pre-commitment programme can receive the boosted 55% APY rate, up to their original committed amount. This promotional period is scheduled to end on September 9.

General staking: Additional RLS, including rewards earned through promotional staking, can be delegated through the general tier at around 18% APY. The rate may change as Rayls moves toward a dynamic reward model based on total participation and the amount of RLS staked.

The promotional rate is linked to the wallet address used for the original pre-commitment. Once that wallet reaches its allocation limit, additional RLS must be moved to a separate wallet and delegated through the general staking tier.

How to stake RLS

  1. Obtain RLS through an exchange, Rayls Swap, or an eligible pre-commitment or liquidity-seeding withdrawal.
  2. Bridge RLS to the Rayls Public Chain through Stargate.
  3. Make sure your wallet has USDr to pay for transaction fees. USDr can be obtained through the Rayls gas-token page.
  4. Visit staking.rayls.com and connect your wallet.
  5. Review the available validators, including their delegated amount, capacity, APY, commission, and self-stake.
  6. Select a validator, enter the amount of RLS you want to delegate, and confirm the transaction.

Delegated RLS is locked in the staking contract and assigned to the selected validator. It is not transferred to the validator’s wallet.

Rewards are paid in RLS and become eligible from the next reward epoch. After delegating, users can return to the dashboard to claim rewards, increase their stake, or begin the unstaking process.

Unstaking and the 14-day unbonding period

Unstaking happens in two steps.

First, users initiate the unstaking process. The amount being unstaked stops earning rewards and enters a 14-day unbonding period. Once the 14 days are complete, users can return to the dashboard and withdraw their RLS.

Why delegated staking matters

Rayls uses a permissioned validator structure for its Public Chain. Delegated staking gives RLS holders a direct way to support validator security without operating a node themselves.

For RLS, staking provides a network utility beyond holding or trading the token. Delegated tokens are used as economic backing for network security, while participants receive rewards for keeping their stake active.

The opening of general staking also expands participation beyond the original pre-commitment and liquidity-seeding cohorts. Anyone holding RLS can now join the staking system, subject to the technical requirements of bridging tokens and holding USDr for gas.

Important risks

Staking rewards and APY are not guaranteed. Delegated RLS may be subject to slashing if a selected validator acts maliciously or goes offline. Users should also account for bridge risks, wallet security, changing reward rates, and the 14-day unbonding period before participating.
