  • XRP Ledger version 3.3.0 introduces six proposed amendments covering privacy, transactions, institutional security, token management, and network efficiency improvements.
  • Validators must maintain 80% approval for two consecutive weeks before every amendment activates across the XRP Ledger protocol permanently.
  • Confidential transfers, sponsored fees, delegated permissions, Dynamic MPT and infrastructure optimizations target businesses, developers and everyday users.

XRP Ledger developers have released version 3.3.0, placing six protocol amendments before validators for approval. The proposed changes introduce privacy features, institutional tools and infrastructure improvements that could significantly expand the network’s capabilities if activated.

Each amendment requires at least 80% validator support for two consecutive weeks before becoming part of the protocol. The package focuses on transaction privacy, wallet security, token flexibility, and network performance while improving the overall user experience.

XRPL Foundation representative Vet described the release as one of the network’s largest protocol upgrades. He noted that the proposed amendments address several long-standing requirements for institutional participation and blockchain efficiency.

Privacy and transaction upgrades lead the proposal

According to Vet, the Confidential Transfer amendment introduces native privacy for Multi-Purpose Tokens on the XRP Ledger. The feature encrypts balances and transfers involving MPTs, preventing public visibility of transaction amounts and account balances.

Additionally, the Batch amendment allows users to combine up to eight transactions into one atomic operation. Every transaction executes together or fails together. Consequently, the feature enables more secure trustless swaps and supports professional over-the-counter trading.

Permission Delegation also strengthens institutional security. Organizations can keep digital assets in cold storage while assigning narrowly defined transaction permissions to operational wallets. Hence, businesses gain greater flexibility without exposing their primary holdings.

Moreover, the Sponsor amendment allows applications to pay transaction fees and reserve requirements for their users. Developers can therefore simplify onboarding by removing one of the most common barriers facing new participants.

Dynamic MPT gives token issuers the ability to modify selected token properties after issuance. That flexibility supports evolving operational and regulatory requirements while preserving token functionality. Besides these additions, the FixCleanup amendment resolves technical issues and improves protocol stability.

Performance improvements now await validator approval

Version 3.3.0 also delivers infrastructure enhancements beyond the proposed protocol changes. According to Vet, node memory consumption has fallen by roughly 10% to 15%, while synchronization speeds have improved. Those optimizations allow validators to process ledger data more efficiently during periods of heavier network activity.

Besides improving node performance, the release reduces operational demands on validators and supports better network reliability. The voting process will now determine whether the proposed amendments become permanent protocol features.

Each proposal must maintain at least 80% validator approval for two weeks before activation. If the voting threshold is achieved, the XRP Ledger will add confidential token transfers, atomic transaction batching, delegated wallet permissions, sponsored transaction fees, flexible Multi-Purpose Tokens and stronger network performance.

Conclusion

Validator approval now stands between the proposed amendments and network activation. The six proposals combine privacy enhancements, institutional wallet controls, onboarding improvements, token management updates and infrastructure optimizations, making the voting outcome a significant milestone for the XRP Ledger ecosystem.
