XRP News Today: Evernorth’s Nasdaq Debut and Ripple’s Korea Deal

Two institutional stories are making headlines today. Evernorth, a company built to hold XRP for investors, is set to ring the Nasdaq closing bell on October 14, 2026.

Ripple has also announced a partnership with Meritz Securities, its first with a Korean securities firm. Meanwhile, the coin itself is quietly rebounding after yesterday’s slide.

XRP News Today covers each story on its own, then looks at how they connect.

The Price Right Now: A Calm Rebound After Yesterday’s Dip

According to live market data, the coin was trading near $1.37, up 0.69% over 24 hours, after a small dip to about $1.35 and a steady recovery.

The 24-hour chart opened near $1.37 and touched about $1.38 early on. It then dipped to about $1.35 in the afternoon, roughly 1% below its starting point, before recovering.

Overnight it moved sideways between $1.36 and $1.38 and ended near $1.37.

Yesterday’s snapshot showed $1.36 and a low near $1.32, so the coin is about 4% above that low.

Trading volume fell 22.59% after doubling yesterday, which points to a calmer market.

Readers following XRP news today should note that no official source ties either story below to these moves.

Evernorth Gets Ready to Ring the Nasdaq Closing Bell

The first story is about a company going public. According tothe press release hosted on Nasdaq, Evernorth completed its merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II, a company created only to merge with another business and take it public.

Armada was sponsored by Arrington XRP Capital Fund.

  • Shares were set to begin trading on Nasdaq on October 12, 2026 under the ticker XRPN.

  • The company holds about 473 million XRP and raised about $300 million in cash before expenses.

  • Investors include Arrington Capital, SBI Group, Ripple, Pantera Capital, Kraken and GSR.

  • It expects to ring the Nasdaq closing bell on October 14, 2026, with company leaders, investors, and members of the ecosystem.

  • A post shared with us says Nasdaq will also hold a live bell-ringing event with interviews, but the press release does not mention this.

A closing bell ceremony is a tradition where a company’s leaders ring the bell that ends the trading day.

It is a celebration, not a financial event. According to CEO Asheesh Birla, the plan is to put capital to work across the ecosystem and grow the coin count per share over time.

Our own simple math, which is not from the release, shows that at $1.37, 473 million coins are worth about $648 million.

The release also warns that the coin’s price may fall, which could affect the company’s shares. No share trading data was part of our sources, so we cannot say how XRPN has traded so far.

Ripple and Meritz Securities Team Up in Korea

The second story comes straight from Ripple. Inits official press release, dated October 14, 2026, the company announced a partnership with Meritz Securities, one of Korea’s leading securities firms.

The two will explore how to bring Ripple Custody and tokenization tools into Korea’s capital markets.

Custody simply means safe storage and transfer of digital assets for regulated firms. Tokenization means turning assets into digital tokens.

  • The work starts within Meritz’s existing business and current rules, then widens in stages as Korea’s digital asset framework develops.

  • Meritz is exploring spot ETFs, fractional investment, security tokens, trading platforms and stablecoins pegged to the Korean won.

  • Ripple’s Fiona Murray said the company has more than 85 licenses and a network spanning more than 60 markets.

  • The release gives no deal size and no launch date.

Four Korean Partners in One Year

Meritz is Ripple’s fourth Korean institution this year and its first securities firm. The press release lists the others:

Institution

Type

What it is doing

Kyobo Life Insurance

Insurance

Korea’s first tokenized government bond settlement

Kbank

Internet-only bank

Digital asset wallet setup through Ripple Custody

Jeonbuk Bank

Regional bank

First Korean regional bank to adopt Ripple Payments

Meritz Securities

Exploring custody and tokenization

Together, they cover banking, insurance and capital markets.

XRPL Wallets Go Live on Privy

The third story is for app builders. According toa post from XRPLF, XRPL wallets are now live on Privy, a service that helps apps create wallets for their users.

The post says apps can set up built-in wallets, sign transactions, and control what each wallet can do.

It names payment apps and AI agents paying over x402 as examples, calling it the fastest way to launch wallets on the XRPL.

According to a post from XRPLF

An “embedded wallet” is simply a wallet built inside an app, so users do not need to install a separate wallet. According toPrivy’s official docs, the setup offers these features:

  • Wallet creation: apps can create wallets on the XRP Ledger for their users.

  • Signing: the wallet can approve transactions, which the app then sends to the network.

  • Spending rules: apps can limit which transaction types a wallet can sign, allow or block certain recipients, cap payment amounts, and even set time-based conditions.

  • Key export: the wallet’s private key or recovery phrase can be exported, so users keep control.

How the Two Stories Fit Together

Both stories show institutions moving closer to this corner of crypto. Evernorth brings the coin to the public stock market, while Meritz is a licensed Korean firm exploring custody and tokenization.

Ripple is an investor in one and the partner in the other.

There is an important difference, though. The Meritz release talks about custody and tokenization tools.

It does not say that Meritz will buy or hold the coin. Nothing in either source says these events moved the chart, and the calm 24-hour move suggests the market is not rushing either way.

What to Watch Next

  • The closing bell ceremony on October 14 and any updates from Evernorth.

  • More details from Ripple and Meritz, such as a timeline or first products.

  • Whether the coin holds above the $1.35 dip or climbs back toward $1.40.

  • Whether trading volume stays quiet or picks up again.

Conclusion

Today’s XRP news today story is about institutions taking small, steady steps. Evernorth is celebrating its Nasdaq debut, and Ripple has added a securities firm to its growing Korean network.

The coin is rebounding quietly, and the sources give context, not a cause, so the smartest approach is to follow the confirmed facts and ignore the hype.
