Retail investor interest in XRP has witnessed a significant downturn. According to Google Trends, global search interest in XRP dropped by more than 90% by mid-October 2026, in stark contrast to its historical peak in July 2025, when the price of XRP approached $3.65.
Search Interest Faces a Steep Decline
The global popularity index for XRP now stands at 13 out of 100, reflecting a dramatic shift in market sentiment. Historical trends reveal that the spike in mid-2025 was an isolated peak, with search traffic significantly lower in preceding and subsequent periods.
Data from the past year corroborates this downward trend, with search volumes halved annually. Brief revivals in August and September have largely dissipated by mid-October.
Despite a sharp drop in online interest for XRP, the lack of a deeper price correction remains a focal point for market observers.
Stable Price Amid Declining Interest
In contrast, XRP’s price has not experienced a similarly steep decline. The currency has traded within a narrow range of $1.30 to $1.34, with the $1.25 mark acting as a significant support zone. Ripple, the U.S.-based tech company operating the XRP Ledger ecosystem, continues to play a pivotal role with XRP as its digital asset.
The broader cryptocurrency market mirrors this calm, with Bitcoin‘s search interest also languishing at multi-year lows. This indicates the current trends aren’t unique to XRP; however, the token presents a notable contradiction as declining retail interest contrasts with its relatively stable price.
Leverage Reduction in Derivatives Market
Another development accompanying the decline in search trends is the marked reduction of highly leveraged positions in the derivatives market, suggesting a decrease in short-term speculative pressure. Although the silence on search engines may unsettle some investors, forecasting platforms and algorithmic models propose that retail interest could be bottoming out.
A resurgence of mass investor interest may be necessary for a new peak; nevertheless, this calm period could lay the groundwork for a longer-term cycle.
Currently, predictions suggest XRP could stabilize between $1.40 and $1.50 by the end of October. Yet, a revival in broad investor demand will be crucial for achieving new record levels. For now, the data indicates a phase where interest wanes but prices hold steady.
