XRP whales now control 68.5% of the token’s supply, even as the price retreats toward $1.29 and faces renewed selling pressure. Santiment Intelligence reports that wallets holding at least 10 million XRP own 46.87 billion tokens, their highest supply share since November 2022. Meanwhile, price levels and moving averages show resistance to a sustained recovery.
Whale Holdings Reach Their Highest Share Since 2022
According to Santiment Intelligence, large XRP holders have continued increasing their exposure despite the token’s weakness near $1.29. The group’s combined balance now stands at 46.87 billion XRP, representing approximately 68.5% of the supply.
Santiment identifies $1.30 as the immediate price pivot and $1.50 as a stronger confirmation level. Holding above $1.20 while whale balances remain elevated would preserve the accumulation thesis. A move above $1.50 alongside further whale growth would strengthen the case for a broader recovery.
XRP Faces Resistance Above $1.29
The October 27, 2026, chart places XRP near $1.295, below its 50-day moving average around $1.31. The token previously fell from approximately $1.45 in May to $1.00 in mid-August before recovering sharply.

However, XRP retreated after reaching nearly $1.62 in September. Its 50-day moving average has also turned downward, reflecting weaker short-term momentum. Meanwhile, the 200-day moving average remains near $1.41, adding another resistance level.
Immediate support is between $1.25 and $1.28. A break below this range could expose $1.20, followed by $1.06. On the upside, XRP needs to reclaim $1.31 before challenging resistance between $1.38 and $1.41.
Network Activity Falls as Holder Numbers Rise
The chart also shows a sharp increase in daily active addresses during August’s rally. Activity later declined, with the latest reading near 24,300 addresses, compared with an earlier spike approaching 938,000.
Despite that decline, XRP’s total holder count continued rising to approximately 8.26 million. The figures show growing holder numbers alongside lower network activity and a retreating token price. Santiment’s whale data adds another measure of accumulation as XRP trades below its short-term moving average.
