Popular crypto hardware wallet maker Trezor revealed on Sep. 4 that another 67,000 customers from the United States have been affected in the data breach at its shipping provider ShipMonk.
Names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping addresses, order numbers, etc. of these 67,000 customers in the U.S., who ordered between November 2019 and August 2021, have been exposed, Trezor said.

The crypto wallet maker first disclosed the incident on Aug. 13 when it revealed that ShipMonk had informed it of unauthorized access to the shipping company's systems containing customer data. The data breach affected users in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Sweden, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, and Portugal, who received an order within the 90 days prior to Aug. 8.
When Trezor disclosed the incident last month, it said the incident affects 11,742 customers with full exposure (name, email, phone number, shipping address) and 1,947 customers with partial exposure (name, city, email).
Following the latest disclosure, the number of Trezor users affected by the data breach at ShipMonk rises to 80,689. The number of affected American users is more than 67,000.
Trezor said it has emailed all the affected customers directly and anyone who didn’t receive it has not been affected. It assured the customers that their devices are safe and its systems aren't compromised.
But the company asked users to be alert for fake emails, phone calls, fraudulent letters, and potential risks to physical security.
The company also said that it had repeatedly requested and received written assurance from ShipMonk regarding the deletion of the data. But data wasn't deleted in ShipMonk's systems, Trezor claimed.
