Amundi, Europe’s leading asset manager by managed assets, has unveiled a newly tokenized share class on Ethereum for its STOXX Europe 600 index-tracking equity fund. This move extends the company’s blockchain-based investment offerings beyond money market funds.

Ethereum Powers Innovative New Product

The newly launched share class was issued in collaboration with CACEIS, a Europe-centric asset servicing company that provides tokenization infrastructure along with custody, fund accounting, and investment services. Amundi confirmed that the fund remains accessible via traditional investment channels.

Encompassing 600 major, mid-cap, and small-cap companies from developed European markets, the STOXX Europe 600 index serves a significant benchmark. With ambitions to broaden its tokenized fund portfolio specifically for institutional clients and digital platforms, Amundi identifies key benefits such as enhanced access, reduced settlement times, and operational efficiency.

Amundi has announced plans to develop a broader family of tokenized fund products aimed at institutional clients and digital platforms.

This development follows Amundi’s initial foray into blockchain-based fund structures with the launch of its first tokenized money market fund share class, also facilitated by CACEIS on Ethereum, back in November 2025.

Tokenized Equity Market Sees Robust Expansion

Amundi’s initiative emerges amid a robust expansion of the tokenized equity market globally. According to RWA.xyz, the total value of tokenized equities reached $4.24 billion as of November 4, marking a roughly 27% increase over the last 30 days.

Notably, the largest products remain heavily centered on U.S.-linked assets. The top 10 tokenized equity products by value all involve assets tied to U.S. companies or securities traded within the United States.

Calls for Regulation in European Financial Markets

Meanwhile, financial entities across Europe continue to advocate for an accelerated regulatory framework. In April, 39 businesses and industry groups cautioned that the European Union could lag behind the U.S. in the realm of tokenized finance.

These groups have petitioned for an expanded scope of eligible assets, higher transaction volume limits, and the removal of duration constraints on licenses under the EU’s Distributed Ledger Technology Pilot Regime.

Thirty-nine European companies and industry groups emphasized that the EU risks falling behind the U.S. in tokenized finance.
