The Grayscale XRP Trust ETF has sold XRP worth more than $180 million during the first half of 2026, the latest filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) revealed.
The fund held 122.23 million XRP by the end of 2025 but lowered the holdings to 55.04 million XRP as of June 30, 2026.
The trust cashed out $180.78 million worth of XRP, selling 103.41 million tokens to redeem investor assets.
Authorized participants of the Grayscale XRP Trust ETF are responsible for creating and redeeming shares. The reduction in XRP holdings of each share was caused by the periodic withdrawals of XRP to meet the sponsor’s fee.
Grayscale suffered a realized loss of $34.16 million on the XRP sale for the redemption of shares during H1 2026. The fund also posted an unrealized loss of $17.47 on its XRP investment. It also suffered a realized loss of $39,000 on its XRP sale to offset expenses.
The price of XRP has declined from $1.84 on Jan. 1 to $1.05 on June 30, a decline of over 40%. At the time of writing, the cryptocurrency was exchanging hands at $1.04.
