Why Did Bitcoin Fall After Kevin Warsh's Jackson Hole Speech?
The Kevin Warsh Jackson Hole reaction turned negative once the Fed Chair struck a hawkish tone, stating inflation trends had not meaningfully improved despite a resilient labor market.
BTC slipped roughly 3% following the address, with the broader Crypto News landscape reporting that altcoins and major digital assets shed value alongside it.
Separately, an account named Crypto Roverclaimed on X that a trader opened a $47 million BTC short position just ahead of the speech.
This has not been verified through any on-chain or named institutional source and should be treated as community speculation, not confirmed fact.
US Strategic Bitcoin Reserve: What Is The Fort Knox Bill?
A related headline resurfaced this week around the US Strategic Reserve.
Pete Rizzo also covered this post on X, pointing to Fox News coverage of Congressman Nick Begich's proposal to have the federal government hold 5% of total BTC supply, or roughly 1 million coins, calling it a "new Fort Knox."
It is important to note this Fort Knox Reserve Bill, formally called the American Reserve Modernization Act, remains a proposal and has not been signed into law.
AFox Business report confirms Begich's plan would match the same percentage the US currently holds in gold reserves.
Expert Opinion
Market analysts suggest the combination of strong ETF Inflows and macro uncertainty from the Fed could keep volatility elevated in the near term.
The Fort Knox Reserve Bill, if it advances through Congress, may add a longer-term structural demand narrative, though analysts caution this outcome remains uncertain and speculative at this stage.
