Key Insights:

  • Bitcoin price USD approached $62,000 support as selling pressure increased.
  • A break below $60,000 could expose Bitcoin to sub-$57,000 levels.
  • Whale accumulation conflicted with rising exchange inflows and weak spot demand.

Bitcoin price USD slipped toward the lower end of its August range on Friday, Aug. 14. Bitcoin traded near $62,831 after reaching an intraday low around $62,648. The move returned attention to support levels as exchange inflows increased.

The decline mattered because Bitcoin remained trapped inside a broad range instead of confirming a directional breakout. Several market indicators showed conflicting positioning between exchange activity and larger wallet accumulation. That split left traders focused on the $62,000 area and the broader $60,000 floor.

Bitcoin Price USD Slips Toward $62,000 Support

Bitcoin traded between roughly $62,648 and $63,918 during Friday’s session, market data showed. Binance separately recorded BTC/USDT near $63,553, with a 24-hour low of $62,802. Its spot market processed about 10,797 BTC during that period.

Ted, a crypto trader posting as TedPillows, said Bitcoin approached a $62,000–$62,500 support zone. He said a failure there could expose the $60,000 level. His assessment followed repeated tests around the lower edge of Bitcoin’s August trading range.

The bitcoin price today therefore remained sensitive to a narrow technical band. Buyers had to defend the lower range before attempting another recovery toward nearby resistance. A sustained move below support would weaken the short-term structure.

Kaz, posting as XBTkaz, identified $62,800 as an order-block area that initially attracted buyers. He also pointed to unswept equal lows near $62,200. Kaz expected a possible rebound toward $64,500–$65,000 before another downside test.

He said a sustained recovery above $65,400 could expose the $67,000–$68,000 region. That level represented the next major upside zone in his short-term framework. Failure to reclaim it would leave lower liquidity levels exposed.

KillaXBT had identified Aug. 14 as a potential turning window earlier this month. He said Bitcoin historically reacted negatively around that date in eight of ten observed cases. However, that pattern represented his historical study, not a deterministic signal.

On Friday, Killa said Bitcoin entered the date while falling. He argued that maintaining the range required a pivot around current levels. A break below $60,000, by contrast, could expose prices below $57,000 during August.

That downside scenario remained conditional rather than confirmed. Bitcoin still traded above the $60,000 threshold during the session. The market also retained nearby support from prior whale accumulation identified by CryptoQuant.

Bitcoin Price USD Faces Conflicting Whale Signals

CryptoQuant contributor Woominkyu reported a whale-supply reversal on June 14. Wallets holding at least 100 BTC had shifted back toward accumulation around that period. CryptoQuant linked the reversal with a rebound toward $65,705.

Separate CryptoQuant analysis around the June selloff showed stronger whale activity below $60,000. The firm reported an Exchange Whale Ratio of 61.6% near the $60,000–$61,000 zone. More than 11,000 BTC later left exchanges during the recovery period.

Current exchange flows showed a different short-term pressure signal. CryptoPatel said wallets holding 1,000–10,000 BTC increased Binance inflows against their 90-day baseline. He placed the increase at 793%.

CryptoPatel also cited persistent Coinbase outflows and rising supply across Binance, Upbit, and Bybit. He said the Coinbase Premium remained negative while funding stayed relatively flat. Those conditions pointed to weaker U.S. spot demand despite larger-holder activity.

That divergence complicated the bitcoin crypto outlook. Whale accumulation can reduce available supply over longer periods. Rising exchange deposits, however, can increase immediately tradable supply and potential selling pressure.

Next Support and Resistance Levels

Binance market data showed Bitcoin remained below $64,000 during the latest session. The exchange listed a 24-hour range extending from about $62,802 to $64,010. That kept price beneath the resistance zone identified by Kaz.

The bitcoin price today remains centered on the $62,000–$62,500 support area. A confirmed loss would shift attention toward $60,000, where prior whale buying emerged in June. Killa’s lower scenario points below $57,000 only if that broader floor breaks.

For the upside, Kaz’s $64,500–$65,000 zone remains the first resistance area. A move above $65,400 would weaken the immediate bearish setup. Until then, the bitcoin price USD structure remains range-bound with downside pressure concentrated near support.
