Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is reportedly preparing for its initial public offering (IPO). Co-CEO Arjun Sethi confirmed at the Semafor World Economy event that Kraken has secretly filed for an IPO.

Kraken’s latest valuation is reportedly around $13.3 billion, a figure notably below the $20 billion peak projected for late 2025.

Sethi, in his assessment of the company’s vision, argued that users want access to the services offered by traditional financial giants. “Customers want the same capabilities as institutions like Citadel, Jane Street, and JPMorgan, and they demand that these be accessible to them. Our mission is to provide that,” he stated.

Kraken’s IPO move is attracting attention alongside other major companies preparing for public offerings in global markets. The company’s entry into the IPO wave, alongside giants like SpaceX and OpenAI, reinforces expectations of a significant wave of IPOs in the technology and finance sectors in 2026.
