Squid Router Joins Send Wallet via Canton's CIP-103 Standard
Squid Router has integrated into Send, the Canton Network wallet, using Canton Network's CIP-103 dApp API standard. The move gives Send users direct access to cross-chain swaps without leaving the wallet interface.
CIP-103 is a standard interface specification that defines how decentralized applications interact with the Canton Network, standardizing the way applications connect to wallets, submit transactions, and listen for ledger events.Conceptually, CIP-103 is to Canton what EIP-1193 is to Ethereum, adapted to Canton's unique privacy-preserving, multi-domain architecture.
Once a wallet supports the standard, it is automatically surfaced in the discovery component of every CIP-103-enabled dApp, removing the need for bespoke integrations on a per-app basis.
What Users Can Access
Through the Squid Router integration, Send users can swap assets across different blockchains from a single platform. Supported Canton-native assets include CC, USDCx, and cBTC. Users can also access tokenized commodities such as gold and silver.
Squid Router supports 100-plus blockchains and over 20,000 tokens, including EVM chains like Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, and Polygon, as well as non-EVM networks like Solana, Cosmos, Sui, and specialized ecosystems including Canton.Squid aggregates liquidity from 130-plus DEXs and off-chain sources, routing between virtually any token pair. According to Squid Router, this infrastructure is designed to give users access to higher liquidity and narrower spreads.
One of the assets available in the integration is cBTC, which is Bitcoin represented on the Canton Network and backed 1:1 by real BTC. The integration is part of a broader push to make Canton a more open and interoperable ecosystem. By aligning on CIP-103, the Canton ecosystem moves closer to a plug-and-play environment where compliant apps and wallets can easily interoperate.
