Crypto News ETF: Why Bitcoin ETF Bleeding While Everything Else Gains?
Money is moving in two directions across crypto right now. The split says a lot. Today's crypto news ETF numbers show Bitcoin funds losing cash. On the same day, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana funds gained cash. Prices for all four coins fell too.
So why keep buying ETFs tied to falling assets? Here is what the flow data, the on-chain activity, and two events in Washington are telling you.
Key Takeaways
Bitcoin spot ETFs lost $236.46 million on September 1 alone. It was the biggest single-day pullback of August. BlackRock's IBIT alone shed $201.18 million.
Ethereum, XRP, and Solana spot ETFs all gained money the same day. They took in $10.95 million, $14.38 million, and $10.19 million. Their spot prices still dropped.
The global crypto market cap sits at $2.68 trillion, down 1.7% in a day. The Fed meets on September 16. The Senate votes on the CLARITY Act around September 15. Both could move flows next.
Why Is Bitcoin Bleeding While Everything Else Gains?
This is the strangest part of today's crypto news ETF picture. Four funds. Four different stories. One single day.
Spot ETFDaily Net Inflow (Sep 1)Cumulative Net InflowTotal Net AssetsBitcoin-$236.46M$54.61B$97.12B (6.25% of BTC market cap)Ethereum$10.95M$13.07B$15.21B (5.21% of ETH market cap)XRP$14.38M$1.68B$1.44B (1.69% of XRP market cap)Solana$10.19M$1.35B$1.39B (2.37% of SOL market cap)
Bitcoin's spot ETFs traded $2.69 billion in value on September 1. BlackRock's IBIT alone drove most of the day's redemptions. That single day made August the roughest month yet for Bitcoin fund flows, per SoSoValue data. Bitcoin price itself traded at $77,516.62 at the time of writing. That is a 1.4% drop on the day. Its market cap sits near $1.56 trillion, per CoinGecko.

Part of the pressure came from derivatives. Lookonchain data shows trader James Wynn closed a 1.33 BTC short for a $1.5K loss. He then flipped into a 30x long on 1.86 BTC, worth about $147,000. His liquidation price sits at $77,243.53. Sharp flips like this add short-term volatility. That hurts when spot ETF demand is already soft.
Ethereum Whale Moves $253M, Yet ETF Buyers Keep Showing Up
Ether told a split story of its own. The Ethereum spot ETF group pulled in $10.95 million in daily net inflows. It traded $791.51 million in volume. BlackRock's ETHB fund led the pack with $11.20 million of that inflow, based on SoSoValue figures.

Meanwhile, Lookonchain flagged a large mystery wallet. It moved 103,252 ETH, worth close to $253 million, onto exchanges over three days. It still holds another 64,603 ETH, worth $155.8 million. Big exchange deposits often signal an intent to sell. Some of that cash could still land back inside an ETF wrapper.
ETH price itself dropped 2.2% to trade at $2,412.47. Its market cap sits near $291.16 billion, as per CoinGecko data.
XRP And Solana Post Gains Even As Prices Slide
XRP and Solana followed Ethereum's pattern. Red prices, green flows.
XRP spot ETFs added $14.38 million in daily net inflows and $39.21 million in trading volume. Franklin's XRPZ fund led with $6.63 million, the largest single share. XRP price sits at $1.35, down 2.3% intraday, with a market cap of $84.68 billion.

Solana spot ETFs gathered $10.19 million in net inflows. Bitwise's BSOL fund led with $6.17 million. SOL trades at $100.13, down 3.2%, with a market cap of $58.60 billion.
Solana's network had a strong month regardless of price. The Solana team's own account on X said the chain processed 5.2 billion non-vote transactions in August. That is a new all-time high, up 19% from July's record.

What's Next: The Fed Decision And The CLARITY Act Vote
Two dates could shift this whole picture. The Federal Reserve meets next on September 16. It held its benchmark rate at 3.50% to 3.75% through August. Sticky inflation now has traders split. Some expect a hold. Others expect a hike, not a cut. A hawkish Fed tends to pull risk money out of Bitcoin. That may explain today crypto news ETF.
The second date is September 15. The Senate holds a procedural cloture vote that day. It covers the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a crypto market structure bill already passed by the House. The vote needs 60 votes to move forward. Lawmakers remain split over ethics and enforcement language. A successful vote would not make the bill law on its own. But it would mark the furthest the bill has gotten all year. A failed vote could stall it until after the midterms.
