The cryptocurrency market entered a correction phase on Aug. 23, with Bitcoin slipping below $77,100 and most major cryptocurrencies trading lower. Pump.fun (PUMP) was the top-performing asset among the 100 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, according to CoinMarketCap.

According to CoinMarketCap at 11:30 a.m. KST on Aug. 23, Bitcoin (BTC) fell 1.85% from the previous day to $77,068.73, while Ethereum (ETH) declined 3.84% to $2,417.28.
XRP dropped 4.12% to $1.48, while Solana (SOL) edged down 0.59% to $94.98. Dogecoin (DOGE) fell 1.88% to $0.09195, and Tron (TRX) slipped 0.42% to $0.3439.
Avalanche (AVAX) posted one of the sharpest declines among major altcoins, falling 6.57% to $7.47. World Liberty Financial (WLFI) dropped 10.59% to $0.05739, while Worldcoin (WLD) declined 8.64% to $0.3867.
Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, Pump.fun (PUMP) recorded the biggest 24-hour gain, surging 15.97%. ASTER posted the steepest decline, falling 13.35%.
Elsewhere in the altcoin market, QUAI fell 3.43% to $0.01171, while ALEO slipped 0.58% to $0.01682.
