The cryptocurrency market extended its gains on Aug. 28, with Bitcoin breaking above the $80,000 mark while Ethena (ENA) emerged as the top-performing asset among the 100 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, according to CoinMarketCap.
Cryptocurrency Prices on August 28, 2026. (IT Times)According to CoinMarketCap at 11:00 a.m. KST on Aug. 28, Bitcoin (BTC) rose 1.86% from the previous day to $80,351.03, while Ethereum (ETH) gained 0.24% to $2,507.62.
XRP climbed 1.96% to $1.44, while Solana (SOL) advanced 5.79% to $107.64. Tron (TRX) edged up 0.91% to $0.3388, and Dogecoin (DOGE) gained 1.67% to $0.08877.
Avalanche (AVAX) rose 1.57% to $7.50. Worldcoin (WLD) added 1.50% to $0.4159, while World Liberty Financial (WLFI) fell 4.04% to $0.06054.
Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, Ethena (ENA) recorded the biggest 24-hour gain, soaring 27.59%. SPX6900 (SPX) posted the steepest decline, falling 4.89%.
Elsewhere in the altcoin market, QUAI slipped 1.06% to $0.01037, while ALEO gained 1.03% to $0.01775.
CoinMarketCap also added GTA6CAT (GATO) as a newly listed cryptocurrency over the past 24 hours.
