The cryptocurrency market traded mixed on September 9, with Bitcoin falling below $79,000 while Venice Token (VVV) emerged as the top-performing asset among the 100 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
Cryptocurrency Prices on September 9, 2026. (IT Times)According to CoinMarketCap at 11:00 a.m. KST on Sept. 9, Bitcoin (BTC) fell 0.53% from the previous day to $78,896.92, while Ethereum (ETH) edged down 0.01% to $2,497.89, extending the broader weakness across major cryptocurrencies.
XRP gained 1.10% to $1.41, while Solana (SOL) slipped 0.32% to $103.84. Tron (TRX) rose 1.34% to $0.3391, while Dogecoin (DOGE) fell 0.86% to $0.09022.
Avalanche (AVAX) declined 1.63% to $7.96. World Liberty Financial (WLFI) edged down 0.68% to $0.05622, while Worldcoin (WLD) dropped 5.60% to $0.4571.
Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, Venice Token (VVV) recorded the biggest 24-hour gain, soaring 30.58%. Morpho (MORPHO) posted the steepest decline, falling 6.85%.
Elsewhere in the altcoin market, QUAI fell 9.44% to $0.01112, while ALEO gained 0.71% to $0.01715.
CoinMarketCap also added five newly listed cryptocurrencies over the past 24 hours: Artificial Shiba (ASHIBA), BUILD, 4Stock (4Stock), Giggle Mascot (MAX), and Panther Token (PNT).
