During September 2 trading, cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) showed diverse demand patterns in the United States. Bitcoin‘s spot ETFs experienced a significant inflow, closing the day with $101.15 million coming in, whereas products focused on Ethereum, XRP, and Solana saw money flowing out. This trend suggests that during uncertain times, investors prefer Bitcoin as a cautious choice.

Bitcoin’s Dominance in Inflows

Bitcoin spot ETFs have seen their total net asset value reach $97.22 billion, with cumulative net inflows amounting to $54.73 billion. On a single day of trading, the transaction volume hit approximately $1.73 billion, surpassing other cryptocurrency ETF categories. This highlights a robust demand for Bitcoin as compared to other altcoins.

Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a net inflow of $101.15 million on September 2, elevating daily trading volumes to $1.73 billion.

Why Are Altcoin ETFs Losing Ground?

It’s apparent that while Ethereum ETFs have maintained a positive flow of $1.83 billion over the last 30 days, they registered a daily net outflow of $48.08 million. Despite this, the long-term capital accumulated in these products remains substantial at $13.03 billion, suggesting that the recent outflows are relatively minimal.

XRP-focused ETFs registered a total daily net outflow of $57.20 million, yet they have a cumulative net inflow of about $1.68 billion. The total flow for the last 30 days stands in positive territory with $165.22 million.

In contrast, Solana ETFs witnessed a daily net outflow of $6.13 million. However, over the past 30 days, they have managed to attract $197.60 million, with a total inflow nearing $1.34 billion.

  • Bitcoin ETFs enjoyed a net inflow of $101.15 million in a day.
  • Ethereum witnessed a 48.08 million dollar outflow despite a strong 30-day inflow.
  • XRP ETFs saw $57.20 million exiting on a daily basis.
  • Solana registered a daily outflow of $6.13 million but retained positive 30-day inflows.

The variance in fund flows has made its mark on price movements as well. In August, XRP approached $1.70 but recently traded at $1.36, testing the 200-day moving average at $1.35. Analysts suggest that failing to maintain this support level might lead to deeper corrections.

XRP is testing the 200-day moving average at $1.35, and securing this support is crucial for the short-term outlook.

Current data highlights short-term exits in altcoin ETFs, yet the 30-day inflows remain positive. Interestingly, Bitcoin’s intake surpassed $100 million in one day, demonstrating the strongest short-term institutional demand.
