  • Ether cleared $2,700, up 10.4% over the trailing week and back to levels last seen in January
  • Spot ether ETFs pulled in $269.98 million in a single day, their largest daily inflow since October 2025
  • The move tracked bitcoin’s own climb past $86,000 over the same stretch, pointing to a market-wide rather than ether-specific catalyst

Ether cleared $2,700 this week, part of a broader crypto rally that has pushed the token up 10.4% over the trailing week and back to price levels last seen in January, moving in close step with bitcoin’s own climb past $86,000 over the same period. The two largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization posted almost identical weekly percentage gains, a pattern that typically points to a shared macro or market-structure driver rather than a catalyst specific to either network.

Spot ether ETFs pulled in $269.98 million in a single day, according to flow data tracked by Farside Investors, the category’s largest daily haul since October 2025. The inflow arrived the same day spot bitcoin ETFs posted their own best day in nearly a year, suggesting institutional allocators were adding crypto exposure broadly rather than favoring one token over the other.

The rally follows a stretch in which ether had underperformed bitcoin for much of the year, with staking participation and validator queue dynamics drawing more attention from the network’s developer community than price action did. Ether’s underlying network activity, including transaction counts, gas usage, and validator participation, can be verified directly through Etherscan, the network’s public block explorer, independent of any single exchange’s reported figures.

Falling oil prices and easing Treasury yields over the same week have supported risk assets broadly, a backdrop that tends to lift bitcoin and ether together rather than favor one over the other, since neither move reflects a change specific to either network’s fundamentals. The breadth of the rally, spanning both major tokens and a wide set of altcoins over the same days, is consistent with a macro-driven risk-on shift rather than an ether-specific announcement or upgrade.

Whether ether’s ETF inflows continue at this week’s pace will depend largely on whether the same risk-on conditions persist. A single strong day, even one that sets a nearly year-long record, does not by itself establish a new trend, and ether ETF flows have swung between large inflows and outflows within the same month multiple times over the past year depending on shifting macro conditions.
