Ethereum is showing signs of stabilization after a volatile period, with its price approaching the mid-$2,400 range. According to Brave New Coin data, ETH is trading at $2,460.98, marking a 0.52% increase over the past 24 hours.

Short-Term Resistance at $2,415 Level

While Ethereum exhibits signs of recovery following its recent decline, upward pressures in the short-term outlook have not entirely dissipated. Analysis from Crypto Tony’s intraday charts indicates that the price has repeatedly been rebuffed around recent local highs, with rally attempts failing to manifest into a clear structural breakout.

The initial key support area is identified at the $2,380 to $2,370 range, where buyers intervened during the last retreat. Sustaining above this band could bolster the process of establishing a base. However, for a marked improvement in the short-term outlook, Ethereum needs to break past nearby resistances and consolidate above $2,415.

Crypto Tony notes the significance of Ethereum maintaining a position above $2,415 to transform current rally attempts into a decisive breakout.

Whale Investment Indicates Growing Confidence

On-chain data highlights substantial investor moves as a crucial supporting factor for optimism around Ethereum. Cointelegraph, citing Lookonchain data, reported that a whale investor divested approximately 1,917.7 BTC over 11 days, equivalent to $159 million, and concurrently acquired around 64,545 ETH, amounting to a $155 million position.

This pivot occurred as Ethereum sought balance within the $2,400 to $2,500 range. The large-scale investor’s move to increase their position during a period of weakness suggests that there might be rising interest from institutional or high-volume participants prior to a broader recovery being confirmed.

According to Cointelegraph via Lookonchain, a major investor executed a net shift from $159 million in Bitcoin to $155 million in Ethereum over 11 days.

Futures Market Sees Surge in Long Positions

Ethereum’s derivatives market sentiment is also showing signs of strengthening. Data shared by trader Symba indicates a sharp decline in the volume of short positions, dropping from over 14,000 to roughly 3,000. Conversely, the volume of long positions has surged from below $100 million to approximately $365 million.

This shift hints that traders are giving more weight to bullish scenarios within the current range. While the price has yet to overcome all nearby resistances, the positioning in the futures market indicates a recovery in confidence compared to previous correction phases.

Long-Term Targets Remain Intact

In the longer-term scenario, some market observers pinpoint the $2,270 to $2,500 range as a critical accumulation zone. Merlin The Trader emphasizes that maintaining this band preserves the possibility of returning to the $3,000 to $3,300 range. Such a development could signal a robust structural improvement within the market.

Further into the future, the $8,800 level is outlined as a target, with the broader distribution zone extending towards around $11,500. In the shorter term, close attention is given to whether Ethereum can uphold the $2,370 to $2,400 band; falling below could reignite consideration of the $2,345 area.

Short-term technical indicators also show a cooling from previous overheated conditions. The two-hour RSI has retreated to 47, while the MACD remains in negative territory. This calming of momentum, however, may provide room for price recovery should renewed buying pressures emerge.
