Everyone Saw It Coming. Nobody Moved.

You've been in that group chat.

The RSI was screaming. The funding rates were telling you. Someone in the chat mentioned it. One message. Three replies. The conversation moved on.

Nobody sold.

Six weeks later, everyone was down 60%. And somehow, nobody saw it coming.

Except everyone did.

This is not a failure of analysis.

It is a documented, reproducible psychological mechanism with a 40-year research history.

In 1985, Stasser and Titus demonstrated what happens when a group discusses a decision: information that everyone already holds dominates the conversation. Information that only one person holds gets mentioned once, briefly — and then the group moves on.

The person in your chat who had the bearish data mentioned it. The room moved on. The group decided on the shared picture. The unshared signal — the thing that would have changed everything — never made it into the decision.

It happens in every cycle. Not because this community is unsophisticated. Because this is what all groups do, everywhere, always.

There are names for all of it.

Why nobody sold at the top: informational conformity (Sherif, 1935). Why the bearish view got passed over: shared information bias (Stasser & Titus, 1985). Why the influencer call moved everyone: authority heuristic (Milgram, 1963). Why nobody was first to say "I'm out": bystander effect (Latané & Darley, 1968).

These are not opinions. They are the most replicated findings in the history of behavioural psychology.

I spent fifteen years in commercial environments watching the same mechanisms operate — in sales teams, brand meetings, boardrooms. I built a community for professionals who want to see these things operating in real time, in their own environments, with their own names for them.

If you can name what happened in that group chat, you can name what happens in every professional room you will ever be in.

That is what the community is for. Link in the first comment.

What mechanism did you watch play out in the last cycle?
