@GuardaWallet has added native support for Terra Classic ($LUNC), giving holders of the community-run token a non-custodial option to manage their assets without relying on a centralised exchange.
What the Integration Offers
Guarda is a non-custodial, all-in-one platform that allows users to buy, store, exchange, sell, send, and earn tokens. The addition of native $LUNC support means holders can now save, transfer, and receive the token while retaining sole control of their private keys. That matters in practice: keeping assets off centralised platforms removes exposure to exchange-side custody risk, a concern that became acute for many Terra holders after the ecosystem's collapse in 2022.
$LUNC is the legacy token resulting from the split of the original Terra chain. It is maintained by the original community and is not a brand-new mainnet. The team mainly consists of decentralised developers and contributors focusing on on-chain governance, token burning, and ecological restoration.
Burn Campaign and On-Chain Activity
The Guarda integration arrives as the Terra Classic community pushes through a meaningful shift in its deflationary strategy. $LUNC's burn tax removes a percentage of every on-chain transaction from circulation permanently. On August 2, 2026, the community raised that tax to 1.5% through governance proposal #12223, the biggest change to LUNC's tokenomics in over a year.
Exchange-led burns are adding to that pressure. Binance's voluntary monthly burn program removed 275.6 million $LUNC on August 1, 2026, bringing its cumulative total to 87.43 billion tokens.A record August burn, following the tax hike, destroyed over 2 billion $LUNC, accelerating deflationary efforts.
Despite the pace of burns, the scale of the task remains large. As of early June 2026, roughly 450.95 billion tokens had been burned since the program began in May 2022, against a circulating supply of 5.55 trillion $LUNC, representing about 7% of the original supply permanently removed from circulation. The impact is limited by the vast token supply, and success depends on sustained high network transaction volume, which remains uncertain.
For Terra Classic holders looking to move assets off exchanges amid these developments, the Guarda integration adds a straightforward, self-custody route to do so.
