@temple_ny, a trading platform on @CantonNetwork, has listed BETH, a wrapped version of Ether ($ETH) issued by BitSafe (@BitSafe_Finance). It is Temple's first wrapped ETH product on Canton Network.

The new BETH-USDCx market lets institutions move between ETH and dollar liquidity within a single venue.

How BETH works

Users get BETH by depositing $ETH on the Ethereum network. To get their ETH back, they burn the BETH on Canton. The mint-and-burn structure ties the supply of the Canton-side token to ETH held on Ethereum.

USDCx, the quote asset in the new market, is a dollar-denominated stablecoin native to Canton. USDCx mints on Canton when USDC locks on Ethereum through a reserve mechanism , according to Genfinity's overview of the Temple platform. The same overview notes that Temple targets institutions that already understand order books, execution quality, and settlement risk, but want those processes to move on-chain.

For firms already trading on Temple, a BETH-USDCx pair adds an ETH route alongside existing Canton-native markets. Temple's help documentation lists SBC as available as a pair alongside Canton Coin (CC) and CBTC.

BitSafe's track record on Canton

BETH follows BitSafe's earlier wrapped Bitcoin product. BitSafe already issues CBTC, the first 1:1-backed wrapped Bitcoin on Canton. BitSafe's documentation says each CBTC is fully backed by Bitcoin held in a decentralized custody system powered by FROST threshold signatures.

On transparency, BitSafe uses Chainlink Proof of Reserve to demonstrate onchain that CBTC is backed 1:1 by BTC , according to Cryptonomist. BitSafe's own site also lists Temple among the venues where CBTC trades, so the BETH listing extends an existing relationship between the two firms.

The listing is a small but concrete step in bringing major crypto assets into Canton, a network built around privacy and institutional workflows. Whether BETH draws meaningful volume will depend on institutional demand for ETH exposure on Canton, and no trading figures have been published for the new market.
