  • Glassnode reports the longest consecutive daily realized-loss streak since mid-August, with $75,000 identified as a key level to hold.
  • Approximately $707 billion in Bitcoin capital remains at a loss, compared with $380 billion in profit, highlighting widespread investor pressure.
  • Binance's 30-day average retail inflows have fallen to 281 BTC, down from cycle peaks of 2,700 BTC as ETFs and changing investor behavior reshape exchange activity.

Bitcoin faces mounting market pressure as realized losses increase and retail deposits on Binance fall to multi-year lows. Glassnode reports that sellers have recorded consecutive daily losses below $80,000. Meanwhile, analyst Darkfost highlights a widening gap between Bitcoin capital held at a loss and capital currently in profit.

Bitcoin Sellers Record Longest Loss Streak Since August

According to Glassnode, last week recorded Bitcoin's longest consecutive run of daily net realized losses since mid-August. Sellers continued realizing losses as BTC traded below $80,000.

However, previous loss clusters in August and September both formed around local price lows. Glassnode noted that holding above $75,000 would follow the same pattern. This places the $75,000 level within the analyst's current market assessment.

The broader pressure also appears in Bitcoin's profitability data. Approximately $707 billion in BTC investments currently remain underwater, compared with $380 billion held in profit. Consequently, the market holds nearly twice as much capital at a loss.

Binance Retail Bitcoin Inflows Fall to 281 BTC

Analyst Darkfost reports that Binance's 30-day average retail Bitcoin inflows have dropped to just 281 BTC. Since 2018, deposits from smaller investors have steadily declined, with daily spikes becoming less frequent.

This differs sharply from the 2019–2021 cycle, when average monthly inflows peaked around 2,700 BTC. Following the FTX collapse in early 2023, retail deposits also climbed to 1,900 BTC.

Meanwhile, March and December 2024 market tops produced smaller spikes between 900 and 1,200 BTC. Darkfost noted that Bitcoin's current valuation is five times higher than its bear market low. However, retail inflows are now five times lower.

ETFs and Regulation Reshape Retail Bitcoin Activity

Darkfost identified the January 2024 spot Bitcoin ETF launches as a possible reason for declining exchange deposits. At launch, average retail inflows remained around 1,000 BTC. ETFs offered investors exposure without self-custody security risks.

Additionally, tighter U.S. and European regulations made exchange access more complex. Some retail investors also prefer holding Bitcoin longer despite price fluctuations. Others may use BTC for payments, although Darkfost described this activity as anecdotal.

Darkfost added that capital held at a loss can restrain market expansion after bear markets. Recovering profitability across the market can take several months.
